We are wrapping up this week with 1 of our MMH Researchers!

My name is Paulina Ntim Brako, and I am a Registered Nurse. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, which I earned in 2014, and a Diploma in Mental Health Nursing obtained in 2006. In addition, I have completed certifications in Counseling Psychology, Global Mental Health, and Leadership & Management in Healthcare.

Some cervical infections are silent — others come with uncomfortable symptoms.

Here are the top 5 causes:

1️⃣ Yeast infections
2️⃣ Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)
3️⃣ Group B Streptococcus (GBS)
4️⃣ Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
5️⃣ Chlamydia

Cervical infections (also called cervicitis) are common during pregnancy and can increase the risk of complications like preterm labor and low birth weight.
