One Simple step to a healthier Thanksgiving.

Healthy Thanksgiving Tip:
For many of us, not overindulging on Thanksgiving Thursday is simply not an option were willing to take. Here is one easy thing you can do that may make your day a little bit healthier:

Drink plenty of water. This is a good practice for urological and overall health every day but on Thanksgiving it can be particularly helpful.

-Take your body weight, divide it in half and drink at least that number of water ounces.
-Water will help fill you up so you may not "need" that 4th helping.
-If you are drinking holiday spirits, keeping hydrated will help combat the day after hangover.
-Good hydration aids digestion and may help lessen the food coma effects after the feast.

Have a safe and Happy Holiday everyone!!!

This Thanksgiving we, like many, will be filling our bellies with food, enjoying time with our families and looking for deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is . We will be donating to our favorite Men's Health cause . Consider giving to your favorite health cause to help spread awareness and fund research for cures.

If you are thankful for your health this season, please keep getting regular health checks and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Prevention and early detection are the best cures.

Here's your Monday Mustache. Time to think about prostate cancer screening.

Prostate Cancer statistics are scary. Help combat the fear by being screened regularly. You should have yearly prostate exams after the age of 50 and start screening by 40 if there is a family history of prostate, breast or other cancers.

If you would like to know if you are genetically predisposed to certain cancers ask your Urologist about new genetic screening available. Knowledge is power!!

While it is highly treatable, it is important to stay informed about the causes, symptoms and stats associated with prostate cancer.

Men's Health Tip # 2: Drink More Water!

A month of Mustaches, A month of Health tips!

Tip of the day: Increase your daily WATER intake. Hydration is a big key to health, it can combat fatigue, overeating and vastly improve urological health.

Start small, try adding one 8 oz glass of water to your daily intake, then add another the next day or week. Ideally you should take at least half your body weight and drink that in oz of H2O per day- more if you are physically active.

And telescopes and binoculars only amplify the risk to your eyes from looking at the sun, doctors say. So even if you're not in the "path of totality," take precautions if you plan to watch.
