The Miami County Foundation and the Pitsenbarger family donated this beautiful bench in memory of Theresa Hargis, who was a beloved resident here for several years. As you will see the bench says, "a gift from her brother Mike". Mike was Theresa's caregiver for many years before she came to live at Vancrest. Mike passed unexpectedly a few years before Theresa. With funds that were left behind, the Miami County Foundation and the Pitsenbarger's (who were like family to Mike and Theresa) decided to leave a memorial behind on our grounds, where Theresa touched so many of our employees (as you can see from the pictures). Theresa was a jokester, she was sassy, she was loving, she was everyone's friend. She also greeted everyone that walked in our door, whether she was inside or outside! We are honored to have this memorial bench on our grounds!
