Roughly 1 in 10 girls and women in America and over 176 million worldwide are affected by endometriosis, yet a diagnosis can take 7 to 10 years. 🌎

Endometriosis is an inflammatory disease, where tissue similar to that which lines the uterus grows in places outside of the uterus, where it does not normally occur and does not belong.

This tissue can cause pain, scarring and adhesions not only on the reproductive organs, but also on other organs within and outside of the pelvis.

Even though this disease is associated strongly with infertility, not all women who have endometriosis are infertile, and many are able to conceive with the help of assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures such as in vitro fertilization. 🩺

While many individuals with endometriosis have pelvic or abdominal pain, particularly with menstrual bleeding or when having sexual in*******se, some have no symptoms at all.

Awareness is key for early diagnosis and treatment. This Endometriosis Awareness Month, let’s raise our voices for the millions of women living with this painful and misunderstood disease.

We were honored to have the RMA of Michigan provider team attend the incredible Foundation Gala, and even more proud to serve as a Gold Sponsor for such a meaningful event.

Supporting organizations that expand access to fertility care aligns deeply with our mission. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to build the family they dream of and we are inspired by the impactful work the Brilora Fertility Foundation is doing to help make that possible.

It was a wonderful evening filled with community, compassion and a shared commitment to hope. Thank you to the organizers, supporters and fellow advocates who continue to make a difference in the fertility space. We’re grateful to stand alongside you. 💙

At RMA of Michigan, Employee Appreciation Week gave us the perfect opportunity to pause and celebrate the incredible team that makes our work possible every single day.

This year, we focused on wellness as a small way to give back to the people who give so much to our patients and to each other. Throughout the week, we shared daily inspiration and hosted 10 minute chair massages by Active Recovery Massage Therapy, with 48 massages enjoyed by members of our team.

We wrapped up the week by gifting everyone YETI Yonder 750 mL water bottles to keep hydration and wellness top of mind.

Moments like this are simple, but meaningful. They are a reminder that behind every great organization is a team of dedicated people whose talent, compassion, and teamwork make a difference every single day.

They support patients through deeply emotional moments, provide guidance and reassurance, and help transform hope into real possibilities.

Please join us in recognizing the amazing people behind the care we provide. We appreciate you more than words can say! 💙

Fun fact: s***m can survive in the female reproductive tract for up to five days, while an egg only lives for about 12 - 24 hours after it’s released. ⏳

That is why the fertile window includes the five days before and the day of ovulation.

If you are trying to conceive (TTC), aim to have in*******se during those days, when the chances of pregnancy are highest. Timing is more important than frequency, so track your cycle and know when you are ovulating!

Olympic gold medalist, Alysa Liu, is an IVF baby! 🥇

She was the first of five kids her father, Arthur, would welcome through egg donation, IVF, and surrogacy.

From becoming the youngest ever U.S. figure skating champion at 13 to winning gold at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, Alysa’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

At RMA of Michigan, we believe that every person who wants to be a parent deserves the chance to be one. Stories like this remind us why we do this work, and what access to family-building options makes possible.

“After struggling for years to get pregnant, RMA made it possible for me to be a mom. The doctors and staff are great! Front desk knows you by name and the medical assistant team is amazing! Especially KITA! Having your blood drawn between 6am to 8am is already dreadful, no one wants to be poked that early but KITA is so smooth and quick I don’t even feel it. Thank you! ❤️”

Reviews like this remind us that compassionate care lives in the details. From being greeted by name at the front desk to steady hands during early morning monitoring, every role matters. Congratulations to this patient and their family! 💙

Research shows that Black women are nearly twice as likely to experience infertility compared to White women, with conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, and uterine fibroids being more common. These conditions are often diagnosed later, reducing treatment options and success rates.

Despite higher rates of infertility, Black women are less likely to access treatment, and may wait twice as long before seeking help. Maternal mortality rates are also significantly higher for Black women in the U.S.

This Black History Month, let’s acknowledge the unique reproductive health challenges faced by the Black community. Equitable fertility care means access, understanding, and solutions that work for everyone.

RMA of Michigan is proud to continue our mission of celebrating all paths to parenthood, ensuring equal access to essential family-building support. We are committed to providing every patient with the respect, compassion, and expertise they deserve.
