Did you hear the great news? Last week, House Bill 144 became law in Ohio. This important legislation, known as Keith's Law, builds upon Communication Disability Law, enabling first responders to have information shared by individuals with disabilities when responding to countywide 9-1-1 calls. In addition to Keith's Law, MCBDD is dedicated to ensuring that people served are prepared in case of emergency with a variety of tools. Check this list for options you can discuss with your SSA to ensure you have what you need in an emergency situation.

More Sensory Friendly Movie Days are being offered! Check out the flyer for more information!

Thank you to Mike Jones and The Wayne Theatre for offering these sensory friendly showings!

Wayne Theatre is committed to offering inclusive showings where everyone feels welcomed and accepted.
Movies will be adjusted to reduce sensory overload (lowered volume, dimmed lights), and offer a safe and accepting environment for those with sensitivities.

We know it can sometimes be hard to follow the "unspoken social norms" of being in a movie theater - so viewers are free to move around and vocalize, as well as bring comfort items such as blankets and stuffed animals.
We hope these showings will help turn a stressful outing into an enjoyable, inclusive experience.
