To our patients, friends, families, and colleagues,
When I started Nexus Behavioral Health, my goal was to create a space for clinicians that was integrative and supportive, while also working to offer our patients a place where they could feel safe and connected. While I feel we have done that within the walls of our clinic, I also feel strongly that the mission for NBH must expand into our community through advocacy, allyship, and philanthropy. While building a sustainable program that will allow us to make change in the community may take some time, I recognize that there are small acts we can do now.
Starting this month, Nexus Behavioral Health will begin a monthly donation program that highlights a local non-profit organization. For the month of June, we will be matching donations made to the Ruth Ellis Center. Simply Facebook Messenger or e-mail us a picture of your donation receipt, and we will match it until our office has donated $500.
From the REC website: “Founded in 1999, Ruth Ellis Center (REC) has established a national reputation for quality and innovation in providing trauma-informed services for le***an, gay, bi-attractional, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth, and young adults, with an emphasis on young people of color, experiencing homelessness, involved in the child welfare system, and/or experiencing barriers to health and wellbeing. It is our mission, to create opportunities with LGBTQ+ young people to build their vision for a positive future. Our vision is a world where LGBTQ+ young people are safe and supported no matter where they go.”
Beyond monetary donations, the Ruth Ellis Center has many other ways to engage and offer support through in-kind donations and volunteer projects. Please visit www.ruthelliscenter.org to learn more about their mission and services, as well as to learn how you can support the amazing work being done.
Warmest regards,
Matthew Kadrich, Psy.D. LP CBIS
