🎓 It’s that time of year when we send another graduating class of athletes from our surrounding schools out into the world. We are always so thankful to have played a role in your high school athletic journeys. Because in the end, keeping you in the game was always just about allowing you to use your sport to bring glory to God, to work hard and chase goals, to grow into leaders and reliable teammates, to find patience and discipline through returning from injury, and to learn how to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat. Now go out and be athletes for life 💜.

2️⃣1️⃣2️⃣ is for YOU! Do you want to see a PT “as needed”? We have a saying here that we like to provide lifelong care without creating lifelong patients. Our goal is to set you free and make you independent of us (the ole “teach a man to fish” concept 🎣). However, we hope that you reach for your phone and call us just like you would reach for a bottle of ibuprofen when something flares up or you encounter a new ache, pain, or injury. In most clinics, you would have to show up as a new patient, jump through all the hoops, and get scheduled for a standard 2x/week for 6 weeks. Not here! We will always remember you and your unique case. Sure, we might need to re-evaluate you for something different or because your health history has changed, but we will jump right into treating you just like before. Just another way we are helping you take your health to 💜.

2️⃣1️⃣2️⃣ is for YOU! Are you trying to avoid surgery? It is estimated that up to 80% of orthopedic surgeries can be avoided, meaning that the injuries can be managed with conservative care. 🙋🏻‍♀️Hi! We ARE the conservative care. Injuries, however acute or chronic, don’t always have to lead to surgery. We can jump-start the healing process in your body with manual therapy or strengthen everything around the injury to allow your body to properly compensate and no longer recognize it as something that causes you pain. 💥BOOM 💥You are back doing what you love with all your body’s original parts.

2️⃣1️⃣2️⃣ is for YOU! Are you not injured? Yes you read that correctly: *NOT* injured. Isn’t Physical Therapy for rehab? Sometimes. But we’d like to do you one better and make sure that you don’t get injured in the first place 🤩. If you are starting a new sport or activity or looking to take your current sport or activity to the next level that means testing your body in ways that you haven’t before. New stresses can lead to a breakdown of mechanics over time, which causes injury. 🤔 What does this mean? See us first! We can test to make sure you are strong, flexible, symmetrical, and stabilized in all the areas you need. We can teach you good movement patterns that can be sustained over the course of a whole season or training period. As Ben Franklin says, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Well, Mr. Franklin, we like to refer to it as “degrees” here 😏, but either way, let’s get to work on the little things to help you achieve your goals, injury-free 🏅.

It just doesn’t add up 🤯. We often have people call and say, “My doctor wrote me a prescription for 3x week for 8 weeks.” We kindly respond by saying, “We can do it in less.” Then there is a pause, and we know what is going through that person’s head: 💭 Isn’t more better? Why would you go against the doctor’s orders? The truth is that the physician is always going to write a prescription for maximum PT because…why not?! It’s like when you get a prescription that contains 30 pills, but you are allowed to stop taking them when you feel better. We know how to prescribe PT better than anyone. We also believe that the emphasis should be on what you are doing at home, so we do skilled work that only we can do while you are with us then give very clear instructions on what you should be doing every single day until you comes back to see us. 💥 BOOM 💥. Less visits. More patient responsibility. Better outcomes. Oh, and did we mention all of the time and cost savings for you?! More therapy doesn’t always equal better therapy. Schedule today and find out why! 👊🏼

Physical Health 🤝 Metabolic Health

We love this kind of research!

Sitting for hours at a time doesn’t just affect your energy—it can seriously disrupt blood sugar control.

A recent study reveals that interrupting prolonged sitting with short bursts of movement can significantly improve glycemic control.

In the study, participants who performed 3 minutes of walking or 10 bodyweight squats every 45 minutes had better blood sugar regulation compared to those who stayed seated or even those who took a single 30-minute walk.

These frequent, targeted bursts of activity were shown to activate key muscle groups like the quadriceps and glutes, leading to better glucose management throughout the day.

This is proof that you don’t need to spend hours in the gym to support your metabolic health. Frequent, intentional movement throughout the day can be a powerful tool to improve blood sugar control, especially for those of us with sedentary jobs.

How will you fit this into your day?

🗣️”I was feeling really good, so I decided to test it. Now I’m back to square one.” Uh oh! Did you fall into the Whole Elephant trap?! 🐘 We hear this a lot. A patient was feeling really good after the 1st or 2nd treatment and decided to jump back into activity 100%. We are certainly all about getting you back to doing what you love without restriction ASAP, but we also want to be smart about it 🧠. Thus, we would like to introduce you to The Graded Exposure Principle: Start with small component movements, or part of the workout, or one quarter of the game. Work back up to and beyond where you were before. There is not a hard line between time off and being back to chasing your goals. Instead, there is a big gray on-ramp. With each step on the ramp comes a joint decision making process between us and you to decide if you side-step, pivot, stay put, or start running straight ahead. Let us help you eat that elephant the right way…one bite at a time! Trust us, recovery is actually faster this way 😎.

No worries here 👊🏼. It’s that time of year when deductibles reset, and many people find themselves paying $$$ out of pocket for Physical Therapy. What if there was a better option? Say, a place that charged a flat fee for the entire session, regardless of what treatment entailed? And what if that fee was very reasonable and oftentimes much less than what you pay “with insurance”. And what if you received top-notch, one-on-one, individualized care for this fee? Hi 👋🏼👋🏼. That’s us. It’s really us. Throw talk of deductibles and co-pays and delayed billing out the window and come experience at 212 🤩.
