Meridian pathways are like rivers. When a river flows, it transports life-giving water that nourishes the land, plants and people. In the same way, meridian pathways transport life-giving Qi to nourish and energize every cell, organ, gland, tissue and muscle. When Qi flows freely throughout the body, one enjoys good physical, mental and emotional well-being.

⚡ Qi is the vital energy that flows through our bodies, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The Early Daoist alchemists and philosophers thought of qi (pronounced as chee) as a vital force within the body that regulates body fluids, energy and the overall flow of the body. They sought out and developed techniques to alter and control the qi movement so that one’s flow was in balance.

In English, qi is usually translated as “vital life force,” but qi goes beyond that simple translation.

According to TCM, qi is the force that makes up and binds together all things in the universe. It is paradoxically, both everything and nothing.

Did you know that cupping is an ancient technique that’s used to a variety of health problems?

🥢 Cupping is a therapy where cups are placed on the skin to create suction, these cups can be made out of glass, earthenware, silicone, and bamboo.

There are different types of cupping (wet and dry) and involve putting a flammable substance such as paper, alcohol or herbs in the cup and setting it on fire. As the fire extinguishers, the acupuncturist places it upside down on your skin and that’s when the suction occurs.

People seek treatment through cupping for many reasons including blood flow, relieving muscle tension/inflammation, relaxation, and enhance overall well-being.
