In honor of Veteran's Day, ILCHV offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 and will re-open on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 9:00am.

This Veterans Day, we honor the service and sacrifice of all who have worn the uniform, and we remember the ongoing battles many face with mental health. No one should ever feel alone. A simple "buddy check" can make a world of difference. Reach out, listen without judgment, and help connect them to care. Hope is available.

Thank you New York State Independent Living Council, Inc. for developing this resource.

On October 10, 2025, the federal government warned that there may not be enough funding to pay November SNAP benefits if the appropriation lapse continues past November 1st. This means the federal government might not be able to cover the cost of SNAP benefits for the month of November.

SNAP shoppers: You can still use your Double Up Food Bucks in November.

We know this time may feel uncertain, but Double Up Food Bucks NY is still here for you. 💚

You can continue to spend any Double Up Food Bucks you’ve earned, including tokens, coupons, or electronic balances, even if your SNAP benefits are paused or your balance is $0. If your SNAP balance carries into November, you can also keep earning Double Up Food Bucks when you buy fresh fruits and vegetables at participating grocery stores and farmers markets.

A few reminders:
- Grocery store coupons expire six weeks after they’re issued.
- Tokens and electronic balances do not expire.
- Some seasonal farmers markets are staying open through November 30.
