What is a Posture Screen?

A posture screen is a simple yet powerful tool we use here at Embody Health Chiropractic, to measure how your body stacks up.

Using your height and weight, it creates a report based on the posture plumb line — an imaginary straight line from the top of your head to the floor.

Front View: We check for tilts and shifts in the head. Even a small shift (over 1 inch) can cause muscle imbalances, tightness, weakness, or pain down the chain.

Side View: This is where things get eye-opening. The screen calculates how much extra weight your neck carries when the head shifts forward.
Think of it like holding a bowling ball with your arm stretched out. It feels much heavier and strains your muscles and joints. Bring it closer to your body and the stress is dramatically reduced.
That’s exactly what happens with forward head posture.

Every inch forward can add up to 30 lbs of abnormal leverage on your neck — pulling your entire spine out of alignment and even decreasing lung capacity by 30%!

Our goal is to restore balance in your muscles, ligaments, and joints so your posture supports your best health.

September means youth fall sports are in full swing! With football, soccer, cheer, and other activities underway, it’s a great time to talk about an important health concern: concussions.

Concussions can happen with or without loss of consciousness and can occur from a fall, collision, or hit to the head, and recognizing the symptoms early is critical. Watch for:
• Headaches or dizziness or neck pain
• Sensitivity to light/noise
• Difficulty concentrating or confusion
• Nausea or delayed responses
