The month of October has been full and we have so much to celebrate! Provider accomplishments, days of awareness, program education, participation in CGI's Trunk-or-Treat, 500+ goodie bags to our in-office patients, a special retirement...and a really awesome crew on Halloween!

Retirement Celebration for Robbin Bradley, Dental Hygienist

Charles Henderson Child Health Center hosted a luncheon and reception in honor of Robbin Bradley, on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Dr. Amy Flowers organized the event which included fellowship and refreshments. Robbin enjoyed 25 years as an employee of CHCHC.

Robbin started at Charles Henderson Child Health Center in October of 1996 as a cashier in the Business Office. In April of 1998, she became a Dental Assistant and in July of 2000, became a Dental Hygienist. She resigned in 2003 but was able to return to CHCHC in May of 2007.

Robbin wanted to share with her work family and friends that being an employee of CHCHC has always been an adventure and that she will think of all with fond memories. One of her happiest working days was receiving her hygiene license in 2000.

She will miss working across the hall from her sister, Tammy, and stated that she has always felt blessed to see her daily. Robbin said that she will truly miss Dr. Flowers, Stacy Sewell, Stacy McClendon, Tom Romero and Courtney Trawick—her buddies. She looks forward to spending time with her family, especially her husband, Steve.

Everyone at the Charles Henderson Child Health Center wishes Robbin a happy and long retirement!

Employees at CHCHC participated in to promote Domestic Violence Awareness Month, show support for survivors and encourage advocacy for children experiencing distressing situations.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) are potentially traumatic events that happen between the ages of 0-17, which includes experiencing or witnessing violence at home or in the community. Our goal is to help families create safe and stable environments that promote nurturing relationships, ACES prevention, and allow children the opportunity to have full and healthy lives.

Dr. Patricia Block, former Medical Director at the Child Health Center, provided lunch for employees. We thank Dr. Block for her generosity and continued support of CHCHC!

On Thursday, October 2, Administrator Susanne Adams and HealthySteps Specialist Mahogany Jordan spoke to the Exchange Club of Troy about the important work being done at Charles Henderson Child Health Center.

Ms. Adams shared the mission and history of CHCHC, while Ms. Jordan discussed her role in supporting parents of infants and toddlers in the home.

Through the HealthySteps program, Ms. Jordan works with families to help prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress, and connects them with valuable community resources in addition to the care provided by their pediatrician.

The HealthySteps program is made possible through funding from the Alabama Department of Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention, allowing CHCHC to continue promoting healthy development and strong family foundations.
