Partha Nandi, MD Gut health expert and host of the Emmy award-winning tv show Ask Dr. Nandi. Hi, I’m Dr. Partha Nandi

I practice internal medicine and gastroenterology. Namaste

I love giving my patients and their families the solutions they need to live happier, healthier lives. I was frustrated that, despite treatments, which included expensive medications and procedures, many of my patients were STILL suffering. Through my years of research and practice, I created a blueprint for folks to live a life, where health and wellness are abundant. I wrote a book describing these principles and created a masterclass to help you learn them too! I look forward to sharing them with you as I do with thousands of patients in my practice. My team and I have started a Health Hero® movement. We would love for you to join us and we look forward to hearing your Health Hero® story

Watching familiar “comfort shows” isn’t just about passing the time. Your brain reacts to the predictability of these shows in a very real way. Seeing the same stories and characters repeatedly creates a low-stakes, safe environment that helps calm your nervous system.

This repetition allows your brain to anticipate what’s coming, which lowers stress and reduces emotional strain. It’s a simple form of emotional maintenance that doesn’t require deep effort or intense focus.

Think of it as giving your nervous system a break. In a world full of uncertainty, these shows provide structure and predictability, which can be surprisingly restorative.

Do you have a comfort show you always go back to when you need to unwind? How does it make you feel?

While modern conveniences make life easier, some everyday habits can have hidden impacts on our long-term health. This list highlights common household items and environmental factors—from microplastics in water bottles and VOCs in candles to the physical toll of sleep deprivation—that can contribute to chronic inflammation and chemical exposure.

The infographic breaks down these 10 areas:

Kitchen Safety: Risks associated with heating plastics, scratched nonstick coatings, and aluminum transfer in high-heat cooking.

Air & Environment: The buildup of indoor dust, bathroom mold, and synthetic fragrances that affect air quality.

Water Quality: Potential contaminants in tap water like PFAS and heavy metals.

Lifestyle: The critical role of getting at least 7 hours of sleep for blood sugar and inflammation control.
