Bloomfield Child & Family Counseling works to help children 4 yr- 19 yr work on skills and learn to cope with a variety of symptoms that hinder their daily lives. Our focus is short-term treatment using direct and effective strategies. At BCFC, we recognize that depression, anxiety, and unexpected life events can be difficult to cope with by yourself. We are committed to helping you by tailoring treatment plans to your identified goals. Our group of licensed clinicians offer specialities and age groups unique to your child. Does your pr***en or teen have ADHD and you aren't sure which specific tools are necessary to focus on? Every child with ADHD learns and acts differently. Don't forget, there are three types of ADHD- make sure you are aware how to best approach your kiddo!

Guided imagery is a helpful tool to try and bring our mind to a favorite spot and imagine all of our senses in that space.

Is your favorite calming space your backyard swing, grandma's house, or a beach vacation with your family?

It can be a fun family exercise to close your eyes and describe all that you see, feel, smell, hear, and taste in your relaxing spot.

Winter Coping Tool: Try Hot Chocolate Breathing! ☕️

Imagine you’re blowing on a cup of hot chocolate to cool it down:

1️⃣ Inhale slowly through your nose. Hold for 4 counts.
2️⃣ Exhale gently through your mouth for 4 counts, like you’re slowly blowing on the cup to cool it down!

Holding your breath between the inhale and exhale allows your body to rest.

This simple exercise helps calm your nervous system, slow racing thoughts, and bring your focus back to the present moment. Trying this exercise a few times can make a big difference in how you feel! 💛✨
