We are closely monitoring the severe weather projections for overnight.

All active oxygen patients need to stay on stationary oxygen for as long as you have power and switch to portable oxygen only in the event of a power outage.

If you are without power for an extended period or you are having a medical emergency please call 911.

If you stole an oxygen concentrator yesterday (Sunday 3/1) between 1:30 and 2:30 pm, you have until 8am tomorrow to return it to the place where you snatched it, no questions asked.
The police will have the video at 8:01 tomorrow.

Spoiler alert, the reason the machine was out back is that we had just picked it up from a patient with Tuberculosis and C-Diff so enjoy the party you’re about to have!

This happens everyday. Make sure you report any questionable charges from a random company you’ve never heard of. We know of a patient in this area whose Medicare paid for $10k worth of catheters that were never ordered or needed by the patient.

The SMP has heard reports of urinary catheter kits showing up as claims on Medicare statements. Please review your Medicare statements and look through all claims. If you see something that seems wrong or you don't understand, contact the AL SMP at 1-800-243-5463.
