Meet Journey’z Director!
🌟 Meet Lela Pohlmann 🌟
Journey’z Day Habilitation Program Director, Warren County Pathfinders
Lela Pohlmann brings decades of experience, creativity, and deep compassion to her role as Director of the Journey’z Day Habilitation Program. A resident of Hermann since 2001, Lela has dedicated more than 25 years to supporting individuals with disabilities through education, advocacy, and people-centered leadership.
Lela began her career as a teacher, where she quickly discovered the importance of recognizing each individual’s unique strengths, challenges, and life experiences. That foundation shaped a career spent working alongside individuals with diverse abilities while collaborating closely with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure meaningful outcomes. Her professional background also includes work as a high school art teacher, wedding coordinator and officiant, project coordinator, and social worker, experiences that continue to influence her thoughtful, creative approach to leadership.
What drives Lela most is a belief in meeting people exactly where they are, without judgment and with genuine care. She values trust, connection, and creating environments where individuals feel seen, respected, and supported. At Journey’z, that philosophy guides everything from daily programming to long-term vision.
Lela has been married to her husband, Brian, for many years, and family plays an important role in her life. She is a proud mom to Olivia and Brendan and a devoted “chosen” grandma to Bella, who brings joy and light to her days. At home, she is also kept company by Ruby Rainbow, a red golden retriever affectionately described as a very large lap dog.
Outside of work, Lela enjoys painting with watercolor and gouache, spending time at the beach, and making memories with her family. Her creativity, warmth, and commitment to putting people first make her a natural leader within the Pathfinders community.
Warren County Pathfinders is grateful for Lela’s leadership, heart, and dedication to creating inclusive spaces where individuals can grow, connect, and thrive.
