We’ve all been there—reaching for a dropped pen or sitting at a desk for an hour, only to feel that familiar, dull ache in the lower back.
But here’s the secret most people miss: The lower back is often just the victim, not the criminal. 🕵️‍♂️
When your "natural weight belt"—the deep core stabilizers like the transverse abdominis and the multifidus—isn't firing correctly, your lumbar spine loses its support system. This leads to:
• Poor Tracking: The vertebrae and discs take on weight they weren't meant to carry alone.
• Compensatory Tension: Other muscles (like your hip flexors or erectors) overwork to "brace" the spine, leading to that "locked up" feeling.
• Instability: Pain during simple movements like standing up, twisting, or lifting.
At LivFit, we don’t just look at where it hurts. We look at why it hurts. By strengthening the stabilizers and improving the "tracking" of your spine, we take the pressure off the bone and put the power back in the muscle.

Why does your shoulder feel "pinched" when you reach overhead? 🛡️
Most people think shoulder pain is just "wear and tear" or an unavoidable part of getting older. In reality, your shoulder is the most mobile joint in your body—which means it relies almost entirely on muscular balance to stay stable.
The "Why" behind the ache:
If the small but mighty muscles of the rotator cuff and the stabilizers around your shoulder blade (scapula) aren't firing correctly, the joint loses its center. This leads to:
• Poor Tracking: The "ball" of your arm bone pinches against the "socket."
• Tendon Stress: Extra load is placed on tissues not meant to handle it.
• Limited Mobility: Your brain "shuts down" your range of motion to protect you from further injury.

At LIV FIT, we don’t just stretch the area that hurts. We look at the system as a whole. By identifying and strengthening the specific muscle weaknesses causing that poor tracking, we can restore stability and get you back to lifting, swimming, or simply reaching into the cupboard—pain-free.
