True advancement in yoga isn’t about how far you can bend, but how deeply you can be still. 🌸
I’ve been realizing how often that lesson shows up off the mat.
Wednesday night, I picked up my new glasses—the ones I had spent an entire evening carefully choosing the week before. Only, when the salesperson handed them to me, I knew right away they weren’t the frames I’d picked. Not even close.
I searched the display shelves, described them in detail, tried to track them down, but the photos were gone and they couldn’t be found. In the end, I was told I could keep these and return them within 30 days if I wasn’t happy. (And I already knew I wasn’t.)
My partner later said, “I can’t believe how calm you stayed.” And he was right—I had plenty I wanted to say, but none of it would have changed the outcome. So I chose silence.
That moment reminded me: growth isn’t always about pushing harder or demanding more. Sometimes it’s about choosing peace, patience, and quiet strength instead.
My next challenge? Finding time in the next 30 days to go back and pick out new frames—because I didn’t actually have time to do it once, let alone twice. 🤓
