Arrest the Midwife is a powerful documentary that everyone should see. Premiering at South by Southwest and featured in multiple film festivals, it tells the true story of the arrest of 3!!! Certified Professional Midwives in New York State—and the extraordinary political action that followed.

The film highlights the courageous response of women from the Plain communities in Western New York and how these arrests helped spark the current movement for CPM licensure in NY and the founding of NYCPM.

I’m deeply grateful I got to sit with the midwives featured in this film during a lunch hour at Strong Hospital prior to viewing this compelling film and while viewing it. This comes back around to why I joined MMHC in Albany on March 26, 2025.

It’s the beginning of the season and she is getting her ski legs back. 😆 She will get there. I just couldn’t pass this up.

What a year!!
A year of reflection, a year of connection, a year of growth.
I am endlessly grateful for every family who trusted me during their birth journey and those who allowed me to support them through placenta processing. Being invited into such sacred, life-changing moments is something I never take lightly.
As I look ahead to 2026, my heart is full and my passion renewed. Thank you for trusting me, for welcoming me into your space, and for allowing me to walk alongside you during one of the most pivotal moments of your lives. It truly means the world to me.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy holiday season from me and mine! 🥰

May your holidays be filled with love, cozy moments, and lots of joy as we head into the new year!

Yes, my 15yo is on my back. 🤭 It’s the annual pic OF holding at least one kid and deciding if this is THE tree 🤔 🌲

A big thanks also goes out to an awesome friend who made me my logo ornaments! 🥰

💫This is your friendly reminder that any holiday is not a reason to be induced. 💫

Induction rates tend to increase around the holidays, as many doctors prefer to avoid delivering babies on major holidays.

Birth should not be controlled by anyone but- the baby! They will let you know when they are ready to come. 😊

Birth is so raw. So many things are happening within the birther’s body that we don’t even fully understand. So many times I leave a birth mourning the journey they hoped for. Sometimes it doesn’t turn out as planned. Thank God it has never been due to the loss of a mother or child, but instead the loss of what they wanted it to be — and still, I cry. I will cry with you. I will cry in my car. I will cry when I get home.
You are not alone for feeling upset that your birth didn’t unfold the way you imagined. I want your birth to be nothing short of amazing. And sometimes… that just can’t happen. Whether because of medical intervention, the laws in NY, or because birth simply took its own path — I am sorry.
I don’t apologize for anything I did — I tried my hardest to make your experience safer, gentler, better. I apologize for the parts I cannot control, the moments where I could only hold space while everything shifted around you.
I apologize that the world of birth can be unpredictable and unfair.
I apologize that your strength wasn’t met with the birth you dreamed of.
But I also honor you.
Your courage.
Your vulnerability.
Your journey — messy, powerful, sacred exactly as it was.
And I want you to know this: even when your birth didn’t go as planned, you did not fail. You rose. You endured. You brought life forward. And that is extraordinary.

Today, we honor the courage, commitment, and sacrifice of all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Your dedication to protecting our freedoms and supporting our communities does not go unnoticed.
As a doula, I am continually inspired by the strength and resilience that families and service members demonstrate—both on and off the field of service.
With gratitude and respect, we thank our veterans and their families for all they have given.
Happy Veterans Day. ❤️🤍💙
