💕 February is American Heart Month – A Time to Prioritize Heart Health 💕

Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, affecting millions of lives across all ages, genders, and ethnicities. This February, take action to protect your cardiovascular health and the health of those you care about.

Here’s how you can get involved:
• Learn CPR and become a lifesaver. More than 350,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests occur annually in the U.S., and nine out of every 10 people die without immediate CPR. By learning Hands-Only CPR, you could be the difference between life and death.
• Go red. Wear red on National Wear Red Day (February 6th) to raise awareness for cardiovascular disease and support women’s heart health and support American Heart Association
• Adopt heart-healthy habits. Up to 80% of heart disease is considered preventable. Use this month to focus on eating a heart-healthy diet, increasing physical activity, managing cholesterol and blood pressure, and maintaining a healthy weight.
• Participate in community events. From heart walks to educational talks, look for local events recognizing American Heart Month and invite friends, family, and colleagues to join you.

Take the first step today. Whether it’s learning CPR, scheduling a health checkup, or committing to a new wellness habit, every action counts.

Your heart health matters – and so do you.

Proud service. Shared stories. A lasting bond!

At the Terraces at Seacrest Village, residents William "Bill" Winterberg (Navy Veteran, Seabees) and Robert Carroll (U.S. Navy) discovered a meaningful connection through their shared service. What began as conversation has quickly grown into a friendship built on honor, experience, and mutual respect.

Moments like these remind us that community is about more than where you live; it’s about the connections you make along the way. Thank you both for your service!

At the Terraces at Seacrest, home is more than a place, it’s a feeling.

We’re honored to share a recent testimonial from resident Emily Palumbo, who has found comfort, connection, and joy within our community:

“I moved into The Terraces 2 years ago with my husband. We were living in our home alone but having difficulty managing. Our daughters suggested moving here. My first impression was it is a beautiful community. I was surprised at all the services and activities offered. I especially like that I remain in control of my own daily routine but feel reassured knowing there are staff available to help me. I enjoy time alone in the morning entertaining myself in my apartment and but in the afternoon I like to participate in the different games. Everyone knows each other here. The staff are wonderful. My advice to those considering assisted living is you will be able to live a more independent life because of the help you can receive."

We stand for unity, equality, and love—because together, we can overcome any darkness and light up the world. Share a photo of a starry night or a moment when you saw the light in the darkness.

Let's celebrate MLK Day by shining our lights together.
