My perspective on human movement challenges the conventional metaphor of the body as a machine, emphasizing the complexity and interconnectedness of our internal anatomy and its organic, natural mechanisms. Unlike machines, which rely on rigid structures and predictable pathways, our bodies operate through dynamic, spiral patterns that enhance our energy flow and movement efficiency—In Fascia Research this is referred to as Fluid, integrated, fascial movement or simply, Biotensegrity.
Our spirals reflect the inherent fluidity and adaptability of our anatomy, defying the simplistic notion of linear force transmission. We have fluid, harmonic movement patterns that have a range of possibilities. The intricate web of internal and external forces in play requires a nuanced understanding akin to mastering a complex billiards shot on a shifting table.
In this ever-evolving dance, we are not just mechanical entities but unique dancers, constantly adapting and harmonizing with the universe's energy, grounded in our own center of gravity. This holistic view underscores the elegance and sophistication of human movement, inviting a deeper appreciation for the body's innate wisdom, resilience and capability.
