Meet the Team Monday: Dr. Sarah Schram

This week we’re spotlighting Sarah E. Schram, MD, Mohs Surgeon and Dermatologist, and President, Lab Director, and Co-Owner of Pima Dermatology.

Dr. Schram is board-certified in Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery and Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. She specializes in Mohs skin cancer surgery, with additional expertise in cutaneous oncology, cosmetic dermatology, and laser treatments.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School, where she received the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After completing her dermatology residency there, she continued her training with a Procedural Dermatology Fellowship focused on Mohs and laser surgery. Before joining Pima Dermatology in 2015, Dr. Schram served as an Assistant Professor and Dermatologic Surgeon at the University of Minnesota.

Beyond patient care, Dr. Schram has lectured nationally and internationally, presented research at major dermatology meetings, and even traveled to Durban, South Africa to help train physicians in cancer excisions, suturing techniques, and wound care.

Patients appreciate Dr. Schram’s warm, approachable demeanor paired with exceptional surgical expertise, helping ensure every patient feels confident and well cared for.

Outside the office, she enjoys traveling the world with her husband, attending basketball games, hiking in the Southwest, exploring great food, and spending time with her sweet dog, Rosie.

We’re grateful to have Dr. Schram leading our team and caring for the Tucson community.

Meet Matthew W. Beal, MD, FAAD
Dermatologist • Laser Surgeon • Co-Owner

A Tucson native and proud Wildcat, Dr. Beal joined Pima Dermatology in 2013 and now serves as Medical Director and Co-Owner. Board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology, he specializes in medical and surgical dermatology, skin cancer treatment, and advanced laser procedures.

He earned his MD from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, graduating at the top of his class and earning election to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.

Trained extensively in laser skin rejuvenation and complex treatments, Dr. Beal is known for developing innovative protocols and being relentless in finding solutions for his patients. He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona, mentoring future dermatologists each month at Pima Dermatology.

Outside the office, you’ll find him cheering on the Arizona Wildcats, cooking with his family, or traveling to his next concert destination.
