Living with diabetes presents challenges beyond managing diet and blood sugar levels. According to the American Diabetes Association, individuals with diabetes have a 19% to 34% chance of developing a foot ulcer during their lifetime. If left untreated, a foot ulcer can lead to serious infection and, in severe cases, may result in amputation.

Stroke is the #4 leading cause of death in the United States, according to the American Stroke Association. Over the weekend, TMC hosted its annual Stroke Prevention Saturday—an event dedicated to educating community members about strokes, helping them assess their personal risk factors and discussing ways to prevent this serious medical emergency.

Providing Southern Arizona with resources to stay healthy is a vital part of our mission as a local hospital. A huge shoutout to the medical professionals and volunteers who came together to deliver stroke education. Prevention is key, and TMC Health is committed to helping our patients and neighbors protect their health.

Team bonding is at the heart of our culture, encouraging employees to uplift one another and create a lasting impact for patients across the region. Last week, TMC Health's Revenue Cycle team brought this spirit to life with their first annual picnic—a special event that honors the dedication and accomplishments of every team member over the past year.

Bringing together more than 200 onsite and remote staff, the afternoon was filled with opportunities for learning, growth and appreciation. Events like this highlight the meaningful impact each team member has within our community.
