The NFB Braille Enrichment for Literacy and Learning (BELL) Academy is a nationwide, in-person summer program that prepares blind and low vision children to grow into confident and independent blind adults who live the lives they want. Black text, “Attend the National Federation of the blind (NFB) Bell (Braille Enrichment for Literacy and learning) Academy, a transformative learning experience for Blinda and low-vison youth. Through engaging activities and hands-on learning, participants will deepen their braille literacy and learn nonvisual skills to build confidence and independence. Activities include: Interactive braille lessons that celebrate two-hundred years of tactile literacy. Inspiring stories of blind inventors and change makers. Learn about the enduring legacy of Louis Braille. The NFB of Arizona will host two NFB Bell Academies in Tucson and Phoenix at Saavi Services for the Blind. These programs will run from May 25 through June 5, 2026, daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided and there is no registration fee. Transportation can be arranged upon request. The registration deadline is May 25.
