Dr. Mei So grew up in Yuma, Arizona. She moved to Tucson for college and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arizona. She later earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix and completed internal medicine residency at Banner University Medical Center-Tucson.

Dr. Mei So believes that health and healing is a collaborative effort between the patient, their family, and the medical team. She will see patients 18 years and older.

Welcoming Sara Kellogg, DNP-FNP to Mesquite Family Medicine effective 11/17/2025.

Sara Kellogg, DNP, FNP-C is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice who brings nearly two decades of healthcare experience to her role.

Originally from the Midwest, Sara’s diverse background includes work as a theater costume designer, flight attendant and ESL educator in Japan, before she made her home in Tucson in 2012.
She holds bachelor’s degrees from Indiana University and Wagner College and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Arizona.

Her clinical experience spans high acuity wound and vascular care, surgical oncology, palliative care, clinical medical research, and eight years in hospital emergency care. A graduate of a nationally accredited postgraduate nurse practitioner residency in family medicine, Sara is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care in family practice. She will see patients of all ages.

Please Welcome Matthew Vargas, DO to Manzanita Internal Medicine.

Dr. Matthew Vargas, DO, is excited to join Manzanita Internal Medicine as a new physician starting November 17, 2025. A board-certified family physician, Dr. Vargas brings over a decade of experience serving in the United States Air Force, where he worked as both a family doctor and flight surgeon. During his military career, Dr. Vargas held multiple leadership roles, including Primary Care Manager, Flight Commander, and Medical Director, developing a strong foundation in both clinical care and team-based medicine.

With a passion for teaching, Dr. Vargas enjoys working with the next generation of physicians. As part of his commitment to education, patients can expect to occasionally meet medical students or resident physicians participating in their care. A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Dr. Vargas offers a unique approach to patient wellness, incorporating osteopathic manipulation and other alternative strategies to manage both chronic and acute musculoskeletal issues along with treating common issues including hypertension, diabetes, anxiety, depression, sleep concerns, Men's and Women's health topics from family planning to hormone replacement and post-menopausal care.
He will see patients 18 and older.

Welcome to the ACP team Amy!

Amy (FNP) will be joining El Sol Family Medicine Effective 11/03/2025.

Amy Butalla-Rosene, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who has lived in Tucson for many years. She initially obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Arizona and went on to work in nutrition research and education for three years. She then pivoted her career into nursing and earned both her Master’s in Nursing in 2014 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2021 from the University of Arizona.

As a nurse, Amy worked for seven years in the medical intensive care unit and as part of the acute transport team at Banner University Medical Center. As a nurse practitioner, she completed a postgraduate residency at El Rio Health in 2022 and has been working in primary care at El Rio since that time. She strongly believes in the value of primary care as a key agent for health optimization and chronic disease prevention, and she strives to build partnerships with patients to help them achieve their health goals. She will see patients 10 years and older.

Looking for a pediatrician? Dr. Price with Paloma Pediatrics is accepting new patients! Call today to schedule your child's appointment.

Dr. Price trained as a pediatrician at the University of Arizona and did his residency there as well. He is a complete Wildcat, having done undergraduate and graduate studies there too. He is board certified and has over twenty years’ experience as a pediatrician in the Tucson area. Dr. Price feels strongly about giving back to his community. He has taught medical students, residents and nurse practitioner students continuously since starting practice, and has volunteered at schools as well. He did graduate work in human physiology, and has focused his practice on nutrition, exercise and obesity prevention. Dr. Price was born into a military family in New England and spent his childhood moving from coast to coast, living in a dozen cities, in almost two dozen houses. As an adult on his own, though, he stayed put in Tucson, Arizona.

Bether Ge**er is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She grew up in Tucson, Arizona and graduated from the University of Arizona. She has experience in internal medicine with a focus on urgent care and geriatrics. She also specializes in bariatric (weight loss) medicine utilizing modalities such as comprehensive healthy lifestyle changes and proper use and management of GLP-1 and other weight loss medications. She enjoys forming meaningful relationships with patients based on open communication regarding patient needs and health goals in both the short and long term. She will see patients of all ages.
