UPDATE!
GOOD NEWS!

It is now official. Today I signed my new employment contract with Arizona Community physicians. The details are below:

Start Date: November 15, 2021

Location: Sonora Family Practice

I will be working full-time; Monday-Friday, 8-5.

Appointment and message lines are not yet open. When I find out any more details, I will post another update.

Update!

I just met with the staff of AZ Community Physicians (ACP), and it is looking like I will probably be signing on with them. They still need to draw up the actual contract, and then the credentialing process begins (this is necessary with all new hires); this can take typically up to 60-90 days, so I wouldn’t be able to restart seeing patients until at least Nov-Dec.

That’s all the info I can share at this time; I’ll post an update when the details are finalized.

We’ll, they finally did it. I received a short letter yesterday saying that Northwest Allied is terminating my contract. They didn’t say why, & I can only speculate their reasoning. So my last clinic day will be Wednesday, May 12. I’ll keep in touch as to where I’m going to be, and I’ll post it on Facebook, under either Gerald Roth or Madera Medical Center. Stay tuned!

DR. ROTH IS BACK AT WORK!

The wait is finally over! Beginning TOMORROW, Sept. 3, 2013, I will be seeing patients at my new location on the North Side of Tucson:

Northwest Allied Physicians at Magee
7885 N. Oracle Road
Tucson, AZ 85704

The clinic is in the Entrada de Oro Plaza, at the corner of Oracle and Magee Roads. It is on the Southwest side, near the WalMart. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 5:00pm. Most insurance plans are accepted.

Last few hours for Madera Medical Center. We've built up such a great "family" of staff and patients, no matter how great the new place is, I'm sure it will never be the same again. It's an exciting change, and yet I can't help feeling sad. Thanks to all of you--you've provided me with the best years of my life, and I'll never forget you!

The credentialing and verification process is going smoothly, and I am on track to begin seeing patients at my NEW location on Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

UPDATE: DR. ROTH HAS JOINED NORTHWEST ALLIED PHYSICIANS!

It is my great pleasure to notify you of my new position with Northwest Allied Physicians. I will soon be seeing patients at the NEW Northwest Allied Physicians Clinic at 7885 N. Oracle Road (in the Entrada de Oro Plaza, at the corner of Oracle and Magee Roads).
You can continue to expect the same commitment and dedication that I have shown for the past twenty-one years at Madera Medical Center, with the additional support of a parent company that offers medical services throughout the USA.
The credentialing and verification process has begun, and it usually takes about two to three months to complete. I estimate that I will be able to start seeing patients in August or September. The new practice will accept ALL major insurance plans, including Medicare and AHCCCS, and will be open Monday thru Friday. The phone number is (520) 202-1585.
It is my hope with this change that I will be better able to serve you in all your health care needs, at the present time as well as in the future.

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH DR. ROTH??

Good news! Negotiations are going very well. Soon I will be able to announce when and where I will start seeing patients again.

I am currently in negotiations with a number of group practices in Tucson. This process is almost complete, and I think a final decision will be made in the next 1 to 2 weeks. When I have anything to report, I will send it out in our newsletter, and I will post it on our website (www.maderamedical.com) and our page (www.facebook.com/maderamedical). So keep checking your inbox--it won't be much longer.

Dear Valued Patients:

By now, many of you have heard the rumor that Madera Medical Center may soon be closing its doors. This open letter will inform you of the facts.

Madera Medical Center has been serving the Tucson community since 1991. Thousands of people and their families have put their trust in us over the years, and words cannot express our tremendous gratitude for that trust. Unfortunately, the current health care system places the interests of hospitals, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, lawyers and politicians far above the needs of patients, or of small family medical clinics. The costs of running our clinic have increased to such a degree that it is no longer possible for us to maintain our high quality standards and stay profitable.

After Friday, May 31, 2013, Madera Medical Center will no longer be open for business. Effective immediately, we will not be able to accept new patients for medical care. We are encouraging all our patients to seek a new physician as soon as possible, as Dr. Roth will not be able to care for you beyond May 31, 2013. If you are not acquainted with other physicians, you may wish to contact your health plan or the Pima County Medical Society for a referral.

Once you have selected a new physician, you will need to complete an authorization to release your medical records so that I can forward a copy of your records to your new physician (your new physician should provide you with one). Your medical records cannot be released without a signed, written authorization from you. The authorization can be sent to the original clinic address (above). There may be a reasonable copying fee to cover the cost of duplication. The phone number (for messages) and fax number will remain working. For the time being, your records will remain on file at the clinic.

School Physicals Now $35.00!
Madera Medical Center is now offering high school and middle school sports physical exams for the low price of $35.00 per child. This includes physical examination by Dr. Roth, eye exam, filling out the school exam form, and urine test (if required by school).
