Yesterday, we were honored to welcome Curtis, a resident’s son, who delivered an engaging and informative presentation to our community. Curtis is a Principal Investigator at the Thorne Lab at the University of Arizona, where his current research focuses on developing case-specific treatments for colon cancer and exploring the use of AI to advance this vital work. Following the presentation, residents participated in a lively and thoughtful open discussion, asking many insightful questions and engaging deeply with the topic. It was a wonderful opportunity for meaningful dialogue and shared learning. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Curtis for taking the time to share his knowledge, passion, and expertise with us. We truly appreciate the opportunity to learn from him and are grateful for the time he spent teaching and inspiring our community.

Our residents recently enjoyed a meaningful outing to San Xavier Mission, lovingly known as The White Dove of the Desert. With the help of a knowledgeable docent, we explored the rich history of this beautiful church, learning about its art, architecture, and cultural significance. The visit sparked wonderful conversations, moments of reflection, and plenty of smiles along the way. We’re excited to kick off a brand-new Watermark University class for 2026 called "Make You Think Tuesdays"! Each week, residents gather to watch a thought-provoking documentary designed to spark curiosity, learning, and great conversation — followed by an open discussion where ideas really come to life. This week’s feature was Jiro Dreams of Sushi, and it did exactly what we hoped it would do! Residents shared thoughtful insights about passion, discipline, craftsmanship, and lifelong learning. The conversation was so engaging that it even inspired interest in a future sushi lunch outing together! 🍽️ We love seeing our community connect, learn something new, and turn inspiration into shared experiences. Tuesdays are officially something to think about — and look forward to!

What a night to remember! 🎉We danced the year away and welcomed 2026 in style at The Fountains. A huge thank-you to Christopher and Lizz Spears, our amazing DJ and event hostess, for keeping the energy high all evening long! Our residents danced their hearts out, celebrated with a champagne toast, and rang in the New Year surrounded by friends, family and fun. 🥂✨ What a fantastic NYE! Happy New Year from all of us at The Fountains at La Cholla!
