Our thoughts influence how we feel, behave, and experience daily life. Unhelpful patterns, such as expecting the worst or being overly self-critical, can affect mood and well-being. Becoming aware of these patterns is an important first step toward change.

Mindfulness and self-reflection can help challenge negative thoughts and strengthen emotional resilience. https://ow.ly/2yoA50YKq6b

At Sierra Tucson, we advance care by combining proactive, data-informed treatment strategies with a strong community of evidence-based professionals committed to innovation.

In 2025, we launched an automated Recovery Opportunity Cohort tracking system to identify residents who are responding more slowly than expected to treatment. When progress falls outside anticipated clinical trajectories, providers receive real-time alerts — enabling our clinical and medical teams to intervene earlier, adjust care plans, and allocate additional support where it is most needed.

Our Outcomes Team also contributed to the broader field in 2025 by presenting research at national and international psychology conferences. Highlights include: • Validation of a new brief coping assessment for clinical populations • Findings demonstrating that predictors of suicidal ideation differ among veterans and first responders compared to civilians

🍴 Something New is Cooking at Sierra Tucson!
We are thrilled to officially welcome our new Director of Food and Nutritional Services Alan Sanchez to our culinary team! To celebrate, we’re shaking things up in the dining room with a brand-new Chef’s Pop-Up Station.
These pop-up experiences are all about fusion and flair. They give our talented kitchen staff a dedicated space to flex their creative muscles and step outside the daily menu, bringing fresh, innovative flavors directly to our residents.
For our community, it’s more than just a meal—it’s a chance to try something different, engage with our chefs, and enjoy a unique tableside experience.
Please join us in giving Chef Alan a warm welcome! We can’t wait for you to taste what he’s dreaming up next. ✨

Through the Service Resiliency Unit (SRU) at Sierra Tucson, formerly the Red, White and Blue Program, we deliver trauma-informed care tailored to the unique experiences of Veterans and First Responders. Our outcomes reflect the impact of this specialized approach: 79% of Veterans showed improvement in PTSD, and 77% of First Responders showed improvement in depression.

By recognizing the distinct cultures, values, and shared histories of those who serve, we bridge clinical expertise with lived experience to create a therapeutic environment grounded in trust, respect, and understanding.
