The new year is a chance to recommit to your recovery journey — not to start over or chase a “new year, new me” ideal. Recovery is about steady progress, self-compassion, and building a strong foundation of support. Some days will feel easier than others, and that’s okay — every small step counts.

This year, focus on realistic goals, emotional wellness, and hope for the journey ahead. Share this post to encourage others to start the new year with intention and support in their recovery.

There is a unique kind of healing that happens when the desert rain meets the Santa Catalina Mountains. While winter elsewhere might feel gray, here, the rain brings a sense of renewal, grounding, and quiet reflection.

The sound of raindrops on the cactus, the mist rolling over the peaks, and the crisp, clean air—it’s nature’s way of reminding us that it’s okay to slow down, turn inward, and breathe.

In the journey of recovery, the "rainy days" are often where the most growth happens. Today, we’re embracing the cozy corners, the warm tea, and the breakthrough moments that happen when the world goes quiet.
Why we love winter rain at ST:
The Scent: Nothing beats the fragrance of wet creosote and earth.
The Pace: A natural invitation to practice mindfulness and presence.

The Clarity: The desert looks more vibrant than ever after a soak.

How are you practicing self-care on this rainy day? Let us know in the comments. 👇

Looking forward to it!

We are still dreaming about the incredible views from our Enjoy Life Again (ELA) Stargazing Event last week.

A massive thank you to Jimmy Pastore for sharing his expertise with us. With over 40 years of experience, Jimmy brought the universe to life, showing our residents breathtaking galaxies and nebulae in stunning detail through his telescopes. 🔭

The night was filled with “ooohs” and “aahs” as we explored the cosmos together. At Sierra Tucson, we believe these moments of wonder are a vital part of the healing journey. We are so excited to announce that we’ll be adding this event to our monthly calendar for residents and staff to enjoy!

Stay tuned for more magic under the stars. 🌵🌟

Today, we honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., who reminded us that progress is built through courage, compassion, and community.

In recovery, these same principles matter. Growth often requires perseverance, self-compassion, and support from others. Every step forward, no matter how small, contributes to a stronger, healthier future.

On this day, take a moment to reflect on the impact of kindness, justice, and understanding in your own life and recovery journey.

Tapping into the archives for a quick 2016 photo dump! 📸

It was a landmark year for the Sierra Tucson family as we grew our campus, our community outreach, and our specialized care:

The Red, White, and Blue Program: We were proud to introduce this specialty program specifically for military members, veterans, and first responders. Individually focused and trauma-based, it continues to provide a safe space for those navigating PTSD, addiction, and chronic pain. 🇺🇸❤️🩹

Heroes 6K: Lacing up for a great cause! 🏃‍♂️💨

Adopt-a-Child: Bringing some holiday magic to those in our community who need it most. 🎁

Gratitude for Giving: Spreading our thanks to our partners from Phoenix to Florida. ☀️

All-Staff Awards: Celebrating the heart and soul of our mission—our incredible people! 🏆

Which of these memories was your favorite? Let us know in the comments! 👇

At Sierra Tucson, we talk a lot about clinical excellence—but who provides the heartbeat behind that care? 🩺❤️

Introducing The Notorious B.H.A. Team. While our clinicians design the path to recovery, our Behavioral Health Associates are the constant, reliable presence that makes healing possible 24/7. They are the backbone of our community, bridging the gap between clinical sessions and daily life by:

✅ Establishing Safety: Creating a nurturing space for deep healing.
✅ Encouraging Accountability: Helping residents turn clinical lessons into real-world habits.
✅ Bridging Care: Serving as the vital link for our interdisciplinary team.

To celebrate this incredible crew, our BHA Morale Committee kicked off 2026 with our first-ever sponsored event! From "Family Feud" showdowns to great food, it was a blast seeing our day and night shifts come together.

We are so proud of this team and excited for everything 2026 has in store! ✨
