We are pleased to announce that our surgeons will be resuming elective surgeries at Northwest Medical Center and Oro Valley Surgical Suites beginning Monday, May 4, 2020. These surgeries will ONLY be outpatient surgeries where patients are not expected to stay overnight, and must test COVID-19 negative prior to their surgery. Please contact your surgeon's medical assistant or surgery scheduler to arrange or re-schedule your surgery.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that we will resume IN PERSON office visits beginning Monday, May 11, 2020. There will be restrictions and limitations to these visits, in compliance with Gov. Ducey, Arizona Department of Health Services, and CDC recommendations. Please contact our office to schedule your visit at (520) 742-7890.

However, if you wish to continue with VIRTUAL VISITs, we will do everything to accommodate your request.

Our office will resume opening on Wednesdays, as well, starting May 6, 2020.

We are currently assessing the newly established criteria for re-scheduling cancelled surgeries outlined by Northwest Medical Center, and will be contacting you to discuss.

In addition, Gov. Ducey has extended the STAY HOME, STAY HEALTHY, STAY CONNECTED order until May 15. We will be considering this in announcing plans to either continue with VIRTUAL visits beyond May 1, or a limited re-opening beginning May 4.

Since Gov. Ducey's 4/22/20 executive order that allows elective surgeries to resume, we have been receiving many calls about re-scheduling previously cancelled surgeries, and scheduling new surgeries.

Please know that we are evaluating all of the information, requirements, criteria, recommendations, and best medical evidence to return to doing surgeries, as soon as possible.

In addition, we do not have the information for Northwest Medical Center as to when the main hospital will be available to meet all of the criteria set by the Governor, Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Pima County Health Department.

As soon as we have the available information to make a decision, and a specific plan on re-scheduling your surgery, you will be notified directly by your surgeons' scheduler.

For now, we continue to follow the STAY HOME, STAY HEALTHY, STAY CONNECTED, RETURN STRONGER order until April 30, 2020. Thus, if you need a VIRTUAL VISIT with one of our providers, please call the office at (520) 742-7890.

Once the Governor announces any changes to the current order expiring 4/30/20, we will make the appropriate announcement.

We hope that you are all safe and healthy! In an effort to continue to "Stay Home, Stay Healthy, and Stay Connected" as ordered by Govenor Ducey until April 30, 2020, NNS will be closing its office on Wednesdays, effective April 15, 2020.

In the meantime, the offices are still open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays. Our surgeons are still receiving and triaging referrals and can set up VIRTUAL VISITS using FaceTime or Zoom Meetings. In some cases, an in-person visit may be scheduled.

Given AZ Gov. Ducey's executive order (effective 5PM today, March 31, 2020 thru April 30, 2020) to STAY HOME, STAY HEALTHY, STAY CONNECTED, we will be re-scheduling office visits into VIRTUAL VISITS throught the end of April.

If new or existing patients have any questions, please call the office at (520) 742-7890 furing regular business hours. Our dedicated staff will be able to help you with re-scheduling your visit and assisting you with how to prepare for your Face Time or ZOOM virtual visit.

We have finished our first week of VIRTUAL VISITS with resounding success due to the flexibility of our patients and the extra efforts by our staff.

In order to continue to practice social distancing and reduce the spread of COVID-19, we will continue with VIRTUAL VISITS for another week, and have cancelled all elective surgeries for another week (week of April 6, 2020).

So, VIRTUAL VISITS will continue for the week of March 30, 2020, and the week of April 6, 2020. If you were scheduled fo surgery the week of April 6, your surgeon's medical assistant or other staff will contact you to postpone the surgery. We do not know when we will begin scheduling surgeries, as of yet.

If you have an office visit during the upcoming two weeks, you will be contacted about re-booking the appointment over FaceTime if you have an iPhone, iPad, or Mac computer. Or, with a computer equipped with web camera and microphone, you can have your appointment re-booked through ZOOM. Our staff will help you understand the best method to do the VIRTUAL VISIT when you are contacted.

First day of VIRTUAL VISITS at Northwest NeuroSpecialisis, PLLC, went amazing well due to the patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm of our patients and staff. You all have been so understanding and appreciative of our efforts to flatten the curve, and reduce exposure to all of you and our staff.

You can have a VIRTUAL VISIT with your provider via FaceTime on your iPhone, iPad, or Macintosh computer, or using Zoom Meetings from your computer or electronic device as long as you have a we**am and microphone installed, and internet access. Our staff will contact you by phone to set up your desired method, and remind you of the visit approximately 10 minutes prior to the visit.

We will continue with these visits for the next two weeks, and re-evaluate the situation. We are scheduling face-to-face visits, but typically after the second week of April.

Given the current events related to COVID-19, and the recent Executive Order from Gov. Doug Ducey, Drs. Putty, Scully, and Chua will be cancelling all elective surgeries for, at least, the next 2 weeks at Northwest Medical Center and Oro Valley Surgical Suites, effective Monday, March 23, 2020. We truly apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, but it is in the best interest of the patients who may need the resources, personal protective equipment, and hospital beds for the near future.

In addition, to protect the health and safety or our patients and our staff, we will be cancelling ALL office visits, effective Monday, March 23, 2020. However, we will try to accommodate patients with FaceTime visits or Virtual Office visits using Zoom Meetings from your computer, tablet, or smartphone for your previously scheduled visit. We will trial this for the next 2 weeks, and make a decision about further visits as the conditions and recommendations follow.

If you are a new patient seeking a new patient appointment visit, we may not be able to accommodate you as soon as we would like, however, please call the office at 520-742-7890 to receive the most current instructions. We will continue to monitor the phones and messages left. If you feel you are in need of emergency care, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Please know that we are keeping all of you in our thoughts, and encourage you to follow the current COVID-19 recommendations including hand washing and social distancing, among others that you are well aware of.
