Founded in 1636, the National Guard was established as a citizen force meant to protect families and towns from attack. Today, National Guard soldiers are always ready to defend Americans in the event of an emergency.

Come out to help remember and honor our fallen service members. All ceremonies start at 10AM at the respective cemetery followed immediately by a wreath laying.

On this day 84 years ago, more than 2,400 U.S. service members and civilians were killed and another 1,100 were injured after a Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The attack destroyed or sank dozens of U.S. Navy battle ships, including the USS Arizona, and destroyed 188 aircrafts.

This day is designated as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day to honor those who died on that fateful day in Hawaii. To those who lost their lives in service to our country, thank you for your sacrifice and service.

In observation of Thanksgiving, the ADVS main office in Phoenix and the offices at the Veterans' Memorial Cemeteries will be closed today. All cemetery grounds will be open for guests to visit loved ones.

Normal business hours will resume tomorrow, November 28.

We ❤️ our community! A big thanks to AARP and Applebee's for making our Veteran home staff and residents feel loved. In honor of Veterans Day, AARP AZ bought the staff at each of our four Veteran homes a Chipotle lunch and Applebee's donated 200 steak dinners to our ASVH-Tucson residents and staff!

Governor Katie Hobbs and ADVS are proud to announce the awardees of the Homes for Heroes grant program, a statewide initiative designed to address veteran homelessness by expanding transitional housing, reducing barriers to care, and increasing access to same-day services for Arizona’s most vulnerable Veterans.

These awards reflect Arizona’s ongoing commitment to ending Veteran homelessness by expanding access to housing and supportive services across all regions of the state.

“Our Veterans have sacrificed so much for our country," said Director Scott. "We owe it to them to ensure they have a safe place to sleep, and the support they need to rebuild their lives. With these new investments, we are taking meaningful steps toward that goal."
