Caring for your body and mind is essential to living a healthy, balanced life. This National Women's Health and Fitness Day, why not focus on nurturing yourself?

Strength training is fun and simple to add into your health routine! A family nurse practitioner at TMCOne shares three reasons to incorporate strength training into your day:
- Osteoporosis prevention
- Slows muscle loss with aging
- Improves mental health

Prioritizing your health means putting your mind and body first. Start with something small and gradually build up as you grow stronger.

Did you know wearing a seatbelt correctly during pregnancy can reduce the risk of injury by 84%? Yet only 12% of pregnant drivers/passengers are using their seatbelt the right way. Despite the importance, prenatal vehicle safety is often overlooked.

What you need to know:
- Seatbelt adjusters may seem helpful, but they can interfere with how your seatbelt works, putting you at greater risk. They’re not recommended because they tamper with a life-saving device.
- Improper seatbelt use in a crash can lead to serious complications like placental abruption, maternal shock, uterine rupture and direct fetal injury.

Want to make sure you're buckled up safely? Schedule a prenatal seatbelt check by calling 520-324-4475 or emailing communityoutreach@tmcaz.com

You can also visit www.hcpvs.org to find more information on prenatal vehicle safety.
