Thanksgiving can be beautiful—and hard.

Behind the smiles, many hearts ache for someone missing. Holidays stir up memories and remind us of what we’ve lost.

If that’s you, here are 3 ways to care for your heart:
• Give yourself permission to grieve. Missing them means they mattered.
• Speak their name. Share a memory or story. Love deserves a voice.
• Honor them. Light a candle, write a letter, or create a simple ritual.

🦃🏆 Today our Tucson office brought the Thanksgiving spirit with a little friendly competition: Guess the Weight of the Turkey. Closest guess wins the bird to take home for the holiday!

Dependable Health Services’ Low Vision Program is here to support individuals experiencing vision loss, helping them stay safe, confident, and independent in the comfort of their own home.

Vision loss caused by conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, inoperable cataracts, or general sight loss (20/70 or worse) can greatly impact daily living. Our specialized Low Vision Program provides the clinical care, training, and resources needed to adapt and thrive.

✨ Our Low Vision Program Includes:

🔹 Daily Living Skills (ADLs)
• Home safety assessments & modification recommendations
• Training on adaptive equipment
• Education on viewing techniques
• Support with personal care & household tasks

💙🌿 Today at our Tucson office, Dependable Hospice unveiled the Cholla Remembrance Tree, led by our chaplain, Scott.

The cholla’s intricate skeleton reminds us that even in loss, there is structure and grace. Each heart placed on its branches carries the name of a patient who has passed on to eternity, a quiet testament to lives cherished and care given. This tree is more than a decoration; it is a memorial of our shared journey in hospice care, where love remains and the sacred trust of caregiving is honored.

To mark the occasion, Scott shared his original poem, “The Cholla Still Stands,” which is featured in this post. Scott closed the ceremony by reading aloud the 114 names on the tree, holding space for remembrance, gratitude, and gentle reverence. We will continue to add names to our tree moving forward to memorialize all of the patients we've cared for that have passed on. 💛

Dependable Health Services is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our in-office team in Tucson. If you have experience in Home Health or Hospice billing and take pride in clean claims, collaboration, and precision, we’d love to hear from you.

📅 Full-Time | Monday–Friday | In-Office (Not Remote)

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Review clinical documentation to ensure billing accuracy
✅ Assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes for services rendered
✅ Submit claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
✅ Investigate and resolve denials and delayed claims
