🩺 November is American Diabetes Month 💙

Diabetes doesn’t just affect blood sugar; it can also impact your vascular health. Over time, high blood sugar can damage arteries and veins, increasing the risk of Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD), poor circulation, and even wounds that are slow to heal.

At AZ Vascular Specialists, we’re dedicated to helping patients manage and prevent these complications through early detection, personalized treatment, and ongoing care.

This month, take a step toward better health and schedule a vascular screening to protect your circulation.

Myth or Fact? 🩺

Myth: Once treated, varicose veins never come back.
Fact: While the treated veins are permanently closed, it's important to understand that new varicose veins can still develop over time. This can happen especially if the underlying risk factors, like poor circulation, genetics, or lifestyle habits (such as prolonged standing or sitting), aren’t properly addressed. Regular follow-up care, lifestyle adjustments, and preventive measures can help reduce the risk of new veins forming.

Meet Ana Paguada, Medical Assistant at AZ Vascular Specialists 🌟

Ana Paguada was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona.
She graduated from Pima Medical Institute for Medical Assisting and has accumulated 6 years of experience with multiple specialists. Her choice in becoming an MA was a step stool into medicine, as she desires to continue her education to pursue a doctorate in medicine. Her time and performance as a medical assistant have provided her with the confirmation and confidence to continue this pathway.

Aside from medicine, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, dancing, and being adventurous outdoors.

At AZVS, Ana assists multiple areas of the office as she circulates arterial procedures, scrubs in for vein procedures, practices wound care, and answers questions or provides information on what to expect from your care at AZVS.
