Today I rode 50 miles and the steepest part of the 62 mile El Tour de Tucson route.

Every time I ride in Tucson, I think of my Dad and how much he would have enjoyed riding around here.

If you knew Scott Coombs and you would like to honor his memory as we approach the 8th anniversary of his passing, please consider a donation of any amount to .

Greetings from a hot and muggy Arizona summer day! While most of the rest of the Northern Hemisphere continues to squeeze as much joy out of the summer season, I continue to hibernate in my air conditioned home and try not to melt.

Lucky for me the mornings are still reasonable and I'm able to do some exercise outdoors before the sun starts climbing and the temperatures start rising. One of the things I've noticed for my own health and wellness goals is the importance of doing some activity outdoors in the fresh air.

Some examples of my exercise options include:

Walking my dog early in the morning, starting pre-sunrise to beat the heat
Swimming laps at the local pool, either before work or on my lunch break
Paying $2 per session and either walking the indoor track or using the fitness equipment at my local Rec Center
Attending yoga classes in person at least once per week
Taking some time on my lunch break to do an Apple Fitness HIIT or Kickboxing workout
As you can see, some of these options are indoors and some are out of doors. My daily schedule is a bit all over the place since I telework 2x per week and have activities I participate in after work as well. But it's important for me to prioritize exercise so I keep my pain at bay, keep my body feeling strong, and help me sleep better.

As you think about exercise for yourself, what comes up for you? Do you notice your body feeling fluid and strong when you exercise or do you feel sluggish and awkward? Is it easy to motivate yourself to move your body or would you rather have your teeth pulled instead?

How many times have you told yourself you need to start going to the gym and then never actually go? What activity would you rather do instead?

One of the things I love to do with my clients is help them figure out the ways they might enjoy moving their body more. What activities do you like to do? What do you want to accomplish as a result of consistent exercise? What are you missing by not exercising regularly and how can you get back to doing those things once again?

Great explanation for the rewards of working with a Health and Wellness Coach!

🌟 Understanding Chronic Disease in America & How Health Coaching Can Help 🌟

Chronic diseases are among the leading health challenges facing millions of Americans. Conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders not only impact quality of life but also increase healthcare costs dramatically.

But there's hope! 🌈 Health coaching is emerging as a powerful ally in managing chronic diseases. By focusing on personalized care, lifestyle adjustments, and preventive practices, health coaches can help alleviate symptoms and enhance overall well-being.

Here are 5 tips for managing stress and chronic disease effectively:

1. **Prioritize Sleep** - Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night to help your body repair and manage stress better.

2. **Eat Balanced Meals** - Nutrition plays a crucial role. Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains in your diet.

3. **Stay Active** - Regular physical activity can help reduce inflammation, improve mood, and boost energy levels.

4. **Mindfulness and Relaxation** - Techniques like meditation, deep breathing, or yoga can decrease stress and improve your mental health.

5. **Stay Connected** - Maintain a supportive network of friends, family, or groups who understand your journey. You're not alone!

Remember, small steps can lead to big changes. Whether you're managing a chronic illness or trying to improve your overall health, a health coach might be just what you need to guide you through your journey towards better health.

Here is a great nonprofit organization here in Tucson that I would recommend if you need help with headshots, acting classes or if you're just looking for a fun and unique event to attend; this is a great cause to help support and they do a lot to help marginalized groups and individuals get the tools they need to gain better exposure in the entertainment industry.

Differently Abled Entertainment's (DAE's) MISSION is to promote and encourage differently abled artists in the entertainment industry by producing content featuring their talents. They offer many services and events. Come see them at 204 W Grant Rd #140, one block west of Stone on Castro Ave. You can find out more info and see they're events page on their website www.ourDAE.org. You can also email them at info@ourDAE.org or call 520-248-6911. Just like many other nonprofits, DAE relies on the generosity of others to be able to accomplish their mission. If you would like to help support their cause with a donation you can text DAE to 53-555, it's 100% secure and they get 100% of your donation.

DAE is hosting a SHARE THE LOVE networking event at their space, Friday, February 16 at 12 pm. It's the first in person event for the Tucson team members of PEOPLE 4 PEOPLE! It's a free event for businesses and community members to meet/mingle and learn how we can help each other and spread love all year long. I hope to see you there!!
