Why give your newborn the Hepatitis B vaccine at birth?

Because Hep B can pass from mom to baby during birth — and the risks are real:

📊 ≈ 90 % of newborns (or infants) who get infected go on to develop chronic, lifelong infection. (CDC)
📊 About 25 % of people infected in infancy/early childhood may later die prematurely from liver disease — such as cirrhosis or liver cancer. (CDC)

First off....The “Seren” in Serendipity = Serign. Get it :)

Why am I starting Serendipity MD? Well, for a couple of reasons. First, I've been asked to do a few different interviews as a family physician and even went on a local live show. So I’ll be honest, why not capitalize on that to help my medical practice grow? HOWEVER, more importantly, I've had an interesting journey over the past several years. I had some bad stuff happen in my life, as WE ALL do, yet very "serendipitously" I have found myself in Tucson, with a wonderful new family and a great job. YES, PUN INTENDED.

So I am hoping, that by visiting my page, that you’ll be able to learn something, have a laugh, a good eye roll, etc. Whatever it is, I hope it is something good for you.
