Papua New Guinea art sets World Record for Oceanic Art sold at Sotheby’s Auction! Biwat (Sepik River) Male Ancestor Figure from a Sacred Flute sold for US$ 2,098,500 at Sotheby’s New York. PNG – Leopards don’t change their spots, but PNG frogs do! Check out this amazing newfound frog species. The Oreophryne ezra was discovered in a tiny, mountaintop cloud forest of Southeastern PNG. The forest has been long avoided by locals, who believe the misty jungle to be taboo, and guarded by spirits. Scientists still do not know why it morphs, it just does!
