Madang – June 6, 2010. Roz Savage completes 4 year row adventure across the Atlantic and Pacific. 8,000 miles, 2.5 million oar strokes…. and 5,000 smiles in Madang!
“Was I really ever worried that there would be nobody to greet me in Madang…. an estimated 5,000 people came down to the harbor to greet me in Madang…a flotilla of 20 canoes…string bands...traditional garlands…school children…gift-giving…it was phenomenal. I wish I could find a way to row and wave at the same time!”
- blog excerpt from Roz Savage, famed Ocean Rower, author, motivational speaker, environmental campaigner, and now the first woman to row solo across the Pacific, completed the third & final stage of her epic voyage at the Madang Resort, Papua New Guinea. http://rozsavage.com/blog/

PNG – Leopards don’t change their spots, but PNG frogs do! Check out this amazing newfound frog species. The Oreophryne ezra was discovered in a tiny, mountaintop cloud forest of Southeastern PNG. The forest has been long avoided by locals, who believe the misty jungle to be taboo, and guarded by spirits. Scientists still do not know why it morphs, it just does!
