As the holidays approached in 2023, Gib Murray realized he needed support to cope with his grief — so he joined a grief support group at Tucson Medical Center (TMC) Hospice.

He says it was everything he needed and more.

Alanna Airitam believes art to be medicine. That is why she donated her original artwork to the TMC Health Healing Art Program (HAP), now on display outside of the Women's Surgery Unit at Tucson Medical Center.

"I know first-hand the transformation art can offer. It gave me a renewed sense of purpose and the ability to imagine a future that felt hopeful, inspired, and filled with possibility. Art can restore presence, dignity, and agency.

"Being a part of the Healing Art Program is a way of extending that same possibility to others —to translate pain into meaning and invisibility into visibility. I see this as more than a donation. I see this as solidarity through the process of creation."

The HAP features more than 2,300 pieces of artwork displayed across the TMC Health system, all of which are donated by local collectors and artists to enhance the patient and staff experience.

Thanks to donors of the TMC Health Foundation, patients in our Cardiac Rehab Department now have access to three new pieces of exercise equipment— aiding their rehabilitation and supporting better heart health.

Serving more than 50 patients each day, this department provides vital services to Southern Arizona cardiovascular patients, helping them fully recover from their cardiac events and regain independence and functionality. With these new machines, we can reduce wait times, accommodate more physical therapists, and offer a greater variety of prescribed exercises.

We're grateful to our cardiac rehab team for providing compassionate care and exceptional support to every patient, and to our donors whose contributions make this possible.💙

We are deeply grateful for the incredible support shown at our 33rd Annual Love Lights Tree Lighting Ceremony!

Despite the rain, a record-breaking 200 people gathered in the Peppi's House courtyard for a special evening of remembrance, honoring and celebrating the memory of loved ones who are no longer with us this holiday season. Guests enjoyed a light supper, a raffle, live music and the warmth of our supportive community and raised funds for families receiving care at TMC Hospice.

Thanks to another $200,000 gift from The Centurions, we are proud to announce the addition of a Transitional Nursery Unit at TMC for Children!

This unit will include:
💗Five newborn isolette incubators to maintain a stable temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels, protecting babies from germs and drafts.
🩺Key equipment including an ultrasound, CO2 monitors, and GlideScopes to assist in intubations.
🛋️Five reclining chairs for family proximity to the newborn.
🍼A special donor milk fund to collect, screen, process, and distribute human breast milk from donors to babies in need, especially premature or medically vulnerable infants.

This Thanksgiving, our TMC Health team showed what community truly means. With the help of generous employee donors and dedicated volunteers, our Auxiliary team assembled 475 holiday meal boxes for TMC Health employees in Tucson, Benson, and Willcox. 💙🍽️

Last year, the food bank helped 225 employees. This year, we more than doubled that number. That’s the power of giving.
