Helping Hands Hospice

Helping Hands Hospice Our priority is to provide comfort and quality with end of life care, allowing patients and family to make the most of every moment.

Our services are to assist the patient and family in coping with the physical, emotional, social, financial, and spiritual aspects of terminal illness. Emphasis is on quality of life for the patient which is achieved through aggressive symptom management, palliative medical care rather than life prolonging measures, when a physician diagnosis that curative treatment is no longer feasible. The needs of the patient, family, or caregivers are considered on an individual basis, and are supported by a trained team of professionals, and volunteers. The supportive needs of the family do not end with the death of the individual; bereavement support continues for a year.

A truly divine angel was laid to rest this past Saturday. Serena has profoundly blessed Helping Hands Hospice, as a volunteer for over 20 years. She illuminated all of our hearts and was always greeted with a warm hug. Serena we will deeply miss your extraordinary friendship and your incredibly uplifting spirit. You had 97 remarkable years of life, and let's not forget, you were one of the pioneering Mary Kay Ladies in Tucumcari. You made the world an even more breathtakingly beautiful place. Love, Helping Hands Hospice Nurses and Volunteers 💕

🌿 HELPING HANDS HOSPICE NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT 🌿

For more than 30 years, Helping Hands Hospice has been serving Tucumcari and the surrounding rural and ranching communities with love, compassion, and dignity at the end of life. Founded by four dedicated nurses with a shared passion to care for patients and families, we remain the only hospice provider in our area—serving communities including Mosquero, Roy, Nara Visa, Clayton, Santa Rosa, and De Baca County.

As a nonprofit, we cover all costs for our patients—providing medications, supplies, and equipment at no charge to families during one of life’s most difficult times.

Unfortunately, due to a recent Medicare audit, our funding has been temporarily suspended. While we remain committed to caring for our patients, we have not received payments for the services we’ve already provided. Without community support, there is a risk that we may not be able to continue offering this vital care.

We are reaching out with humility and hope—asking our neighbors, local families, and communities to consider making a donation to sustain Helping Hands Hospice during this challenging time. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference and helps us continue to provide comfort, compassion, and peace to those at the end of life.

💜 From our hearts to yours—thank you for standing with us and ensuring that no family in our community has to face this journey alone.
