At Community Living, we believe that people with disabilities are capable! While that looks different for every client, it’s a philosophy that drives our approach.

We’ve helped clients develop the skills to live life on their own terms — like Fabian, who earned his driver’s license and now drives himself to his day program. Or Dimitri, who carefully tracks his own medications and accomplishes home tasks.

Thanksgiving at Its Best

Last week, our clients enjoyed a very special Thanksgiving luncheon thanks to the leadership of Marquitta, our Operational Support Specialist and retired Air Force veteran, who spearheaded the event. She was joined by incredible soldiers from Lackland Air Force Base who volunteered their time to serve, spend time with, and celebrate our clients.

It was an afternoon filled with delicious food, meaningful conversations, and joyful moments—180 reasons to be thankful. We are grateful for the service, compassion, and community shown by everyone who helped make this day truly memorable.

When Aamer came to us, his diabetes was life-threatening. We were able to help him establish a healthy diet, which has allowed him to enjoy a life filled with bowling, shopping, and increased independence.

Diabetes can be tough, but it’s also controllable! We’re happy that Aamer is now happy and healthy!
