Tonight’s the night! Daylight Saving Time ends — so before you head to bed, set your clocks back one hour and enjoy that extra bit of sleep.

It’s also a great reminder to take care of a few quick safety checks:
✔️ Replace the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
✔️ Refill or restock your home first aid kit.
✔️ Review your family’s emergency contacts and medications.

A little preparation goes a long way toward keeping your family healthy and safe.

Happy Halloween, Swisher County! 🎃 We want everyone to have a fun, safe, and spooky night. Before your little ghouls and goblins head out, here are a few quick tips for a healthy Halloween:

F - Flashlights! Carry a flashlight, glow stick, or use reflective tape on costumes and bags to help you see and be seen.

A - Accompanied! Younger children should always trick-or-treat with a trusted adult. Older kids should stick to familiar areas and go in a group.

B - Be Aware! Watch for cars, use sidewalks, and only cross the street at corners or crosswalks.

S - Sort Candy! Check all treats at home before eating. Discard any unwrapped or suspicious-looking items.

Have a wonderful and safe Halloween!

Today is World Stroke Day, a critical reminder that when it comes to stroke, time is brain.

Knowing the signs of a stroke can save a life. The easiest way to remember them is to Act F.A.S.T.

F - Face Drooping: Does one side of the face droop or is it numb? Ask the person to smile. Is the smile uneven?

A - Arm Weakness: Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?

S - Speech Difficulty: Is speech slurred? Are they unable to speak or hard to understand?

T - Time to Call 911: If you see ANY of these signs, even if they go away, call 911 and get to a hospital immediately.

Share this post and help spread awareness. You could save a loved one.
