👂 Is there a way to catch hearing loss early?

Early stages of hearing loss are very subtle, but knowing the signs will put you ahead of the game!
1️⃣ Not hearing high-pitched voices well: Straining to hear 🚸 children and some adults’ voices.
2️⃣ Misunderstanding others: High-frequency consonants like "s" and "f" become hard to hear. Those consonants allow you to tell many words apart from one another.
3️⃣ Hearing fewer high-pitched sounds: Missing 🐦 birds chirping, 🐱 kittens meowing, or doors creaking.
4️⃣ Difficulty pinpointing sounds: Confusing the source of sounds. Was that a knock at the door?
5️⃣ Trouble in noisy environments: It’s harder to hear conversations in restaurants.
6️⃣ Tinnitus or ringing in the ears: 90% of tinnitus cases also have hearing loss.

Keep an eye out for the subtle signs. Your ears (and brain) will thank you! ❤️

🏈 Football season’s on the way, so let’s talk about head injuries like concussions. They affect millions of people every year! The impact goes beyond just a bump on the head. Many people with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) also face hearing loss 👂 and balance issues. In fact, almost half experience dizziness, and almost a quarter have hearing problems. It’s not just athletes — everyday accidents like car crashes and falls can cause TBIs, too. Want to learn more about how bumping your noggin impacts your hearing and balance?
