⚠️ Patient Safety Update ⚠️

We want to make our patients aware of a situation happening in our area. Some patients have reported receiving phone calls from a company called Bio Genetics Laboratory, or some report no name was given, claiming to be from our office and stating that our providers want to send them mouth swabs for genetic or DNA testing. In some cases, the phone number even appears to be our clinic number.

Please know:
👉 We will never order or send testing like this without first talking to you in person or during your visit.
👉 We will never ask for personal or insurance information over the phone unless you contacted us first.
👉 Phone numbers can be “spoofed,” which means it may look like we are calling even when we are not.

If you receive one of these calls, please hang up and call our office directly. Do not give out any information.

🚨 MEDICARE FRAUD/SCAM ALERT 🚨

We are receiving numerous calls about a scam involving a company billing Medicare for urinary catheters that patients never ordered or received. The company name being reported most often is GPAAK.

⚠️ Important:
• Our office is NOT ordering these supplies
• Scammers are using provider names without permission
• Many affected people are not even our patients

✅ What to do if you see this on your Medicare Summary Notice (MSN) or EOB:
• Do NOT pay the bill
• Call Medicare immediately:
📞 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227)
Tell them an item was billed that you did not order or receive.

🔒 Protect yourself:
• Do not give your Medicare number to anyone who calls or texts you
• Medicare and your doctor’s office will NOT call to send supplies you didn’t request.

Our office will close at noon on December 24th and will remain closed through December 26th. We will reopen on Monday, December 29th.

New Year’s Hours:
Our office will close at noon on December 31st and will reopen on Friday, January 2nd.

A Few Friendly Reminders About Insurance & Billing 💙

Just a few quick reminders to help things go smoothly at your visits:

✅ Please bring your current insurance card and photo ID to every appointment — even if you’ve been here before.

✅ If your insurance changes, let us know before your appointment so we can update your records.

✅ It’s always a good idea to double-check that your provider is in-network with your insurance plan. While we’re happy to help when we can, it’s each patient’s responsibility to confirm this with their insurance company.

✅ And remember — your insurance policy is between you and your insurance company, so any copays, deductibles, or non-covered services are your responsibility.

If you call today, you may be body slammed (verbally) by Macho Man, The Undertaker, or Hulk Hogan, or serenaded by Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Your provider could be none other than Dr. Seuss, assisted by Thing 1 and Thing 2.
Billing calls? Those are being handled by a piñata, or maybe Fire and Ice 🔥❄️
Also spotted: one adorable pregnant skeleton and a spooky Mickey Mouse!
