🌱 Morning in the Garden at 1st Step 🌱

The young men started their day in the Garden with our Guided Gardening class, beginning with a quiet journaling session. After writing, the guys got hands-on—our garden has been freshly re-tilled and prepped, and today they planted peas for the next harvest.

It’s powerful watching them take ownership of the space and themselves, nurturing something that grows over time—just like they are. 🌿💪

We're incredibly proud to share Dwayne Lee's journey!
Through our partnership with ProsperOK, Dwayne completed welding training and persevered through interviews at four companies before landing his dream job. Today, he's earning $22/hour as a certified welder with full benefits! 💪⚡

The Male Diversion Program is designed to reduce male incarceration in the State of Oklahoma by diverting prison bound young men ages 18-25 into a holistic treatment program centered around counseling, supervision, case management, job training and placement, life skills, mentoring, education, and community engagement.
