On this day in 1988, the first World AIDS Day was declared. Since then, every December 1st, we come together to remember the far too many that we have lost and to reaffirm our continued commitment to finding a cure for HIV and AIDS. Today is a day to say thank you to the many people behind the scenes who help to further this task. As well as a day to celebrate the many survivors and thrivers of these illnesses. Today, wear something RED in solidarity with those who have come before and those who continue on this path.
