🚨 Diabetics: Read This Before Getting High-Dose IV Vitamin C 🚨

Most people don’t know this, but high-dose Vitamin C (10g+) can trick glucose meters and CGMs into showing false high blood sugar — even when your real glucose is perfectly normal.

When Vitamin C hits your bloodstream at high levels, it can mimic the tiny electrical signal that glucose meters and CGMs use to measure sugar.

Your blood sugar doesn’t rise — but the technology gets confused.

👉 Finger-stick meters and some CGMs may read falsely high for 2–4 hours after an infusion.
👉 Insulin pumps that rely on CGM data can potentially dose insulin based on those false highs.

This is NOT real hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) — it’s a sensor error.

If you’re diabetic, here’s how to stay safe:
🚫 Don’t rely on finger-stick meters for 2–4 hours after 10g+ Vitamin C
🚫 Avoid calibrating your CGM during this window
🚫 Don’t adjust insulin doses based on a potentially false high
🚫 If you need accurate glucose, use a venous lab draw or clinical-grade analyzer

Bottom line:
