Introducing our 2025-2026 Missions Representative Dr. Sandra Hershberger!

As IHI Missions Rep, Dr. Hershberger creates meaningful opportunities for our IHI community to learn about and engage in medical missions both locally and abroad. She and her husband also served on an International Rotation to the Middle East.

We are so thankful for Dr. Hershberger and the many ways she encourages us toward Jesus as we share His love!

Our Program Director, Dr. Mitch Duininck, had the privilege to be invited to the State Capitol to join important discussions on Senate Bill 665 – The Medical Ethics Defense Act. This legislation aims to safeguard the rights of healthcare workers to serve with integrity, guided by their ethical and moral convictions, following their conscience.

PGY2 Retreat 2025!

This annual course is designed to provide our second-year residents and their families with a week of teaching, rest, fellowship, and spiritual encouragement. Special thank you to this year’s guest lecturers who shared on topics such as the heart of God, healthy time management, serving God through medicine, and much more.

As you can see from the pictures, our residents took the saying, “work hard, play hard” to a whole new level making the most of their free time to hang out with each other and dive into activities like horseback riding, pickleball, and canoeing! 🛶

We are excited to announce Dr. Kaleigh Winters as our first-ever In His Image Global Health fellow! The Global Health Fellowship is a one-year program that equips physicians who are intentionally exploring and preparing for long-term international medical ministry.

“I am looking forward to joining the team and starting the Global Health Fellowship, as I believe that I will grow tremendously in knowledge, skill, and experience both on a global health level and a domestic level. Not only that, but I also feel that my husband and I will be supported to become more compassionate and kind Jesus followers and will be equipped to explore whatever opportunities God places ahead of us.”

Introducing our 2025-2026 Chaplains Dr. Sarah Bankhead and Dr. Micah Gerakinis!

Our chaplains play a special role in nurturing the spiritual life of our resident community. Through weekly Bible studies, one-on-one mentorship, and other purposeful practices, they create meaningful opportunities for residents to grow in their faith, stay rooted in Jesus, and spread His love to others.

We are so grateful Dr. Bankhead and Dr. Gerakinis said yes to shepherding our community and do so with such care and intentionality!
