Hip injections can be very useful for diagnosing exactly where your pain is coming from. Low back/pinched nerve pain can often mimic hip joint pain. Injections can also be useful for known arthritis but not ready or able to have surgery. At several stages of knee replacement surgery, I am able to check the balance of the knee to confirm the best fit possible for each patient. The ROSA robot is a fantastic tool for ligament balancing and precision cutting during surgery. I am able to digitally map the knee during surgery which means I don’t need a CT scan prior.

I am a surgeon, but I also believe surgery is a last resort. Injections are certainly an important part of my treatment algorithm. My suggestions vary based on x-rays and clinical findings, and I am always very honest with what I think is a reasonable plan for each patient.
