On this Good Friday, we’re honored to spotlight our Chaplain, Scott Gordon.
For 15 years and counting, Pastor Scott has been a steady presence at Miller Hospice. What began as an assignment quickly became a true calling.
“God planted me here, and I’ve watched Him use this space to minister to people in some of the most critical moments of their lives.”
Scott believes ministry extends far beyond the pulpit. Hospice, he says, is where life and eternity meet. It is a sacred space where he can walk alongside patients and families, offering prayer, peace, and presence when it’s needed most.
His favorite part of the role is simple:
Being there. Sitting with families. Offering comfort. Reminding them they are not alone.
“There is something powerful about knowing that even in their hardest hour, God has not forgotten them. I get to be a vessel of that reminder.”
To Scott, hospice is not about giving up. It’s about peace, dignity, and quality of life. It’s about ensuring every patient feels supported, loved, and cared for, while helping families navigate a difficult season with strength and grace.
Whether through conversation, quiet presence, or prayer, Scott meets people where they are often reminding them that what they’re feeling is normal and gently pointing them back to faith, hope, and peace.
What makes the Miller Hospice team special to him?
“The heart. This team truly cares. It’s not just a job—it’s a calling. Everyone shows up ready to make a difference.”
Outside of hospice, Scott is also a pastor, real estate investor, and author. He is passionate about helping others grow both spiritually and financially—believing you can build wealth wisely without losing your soul.
When he’s not working, you’ll find him spending time with family, developing real estate projects, preaching, teaching, and investing in people.
A self-proclaimed morning person, Scott starts each day with purpose, prayer, and a good cup of coffee.
One word that describes his work: Purposeful.
