HAILING THOSE WHO HELP: RYAN DUVAL

Many good Samaratins have been stepping up all over Tulsa and surrounding areas to help their neighbors during this winter storm.
We heard about this one local business owner, Ryan Duval, who found a new purpose for a vintage fire truck he bought at an auction to use for family events, or an occasional parade. After seeing people walking in the cold while he was out, he decided to offer them a ride to a sheltter. That ride led to more rides, more trips to take people heaters, blankets and a host of other things......at his own expense. It's estimated that so far he has taken over 70 people to several shelters, including John 3:16, the American Red Cross and others. . Some other business owners in his area, upon finding out he could use some donations, collected blankets and other cold-weather necessities and loaded them on the truck.

We salute you, Ryan, for all you're doing!

As temperatures dropped and a winter storm moved through the Tulsa area over the weekend, one local man saw a need and decided to act by using a fire truck he originally bought just for fun.

We are greatly saddened to announce the passing of a Tulsa radio and music legend, and a very close friend, Billy Parker. Billy worked for KVOO Radio from 1971 to 2015. During his professional career, he won many ACM and CMA Awards, was inducted to the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame, the Western Swing Hall of Fame, and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. He also was honored by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters with their coveted Lifetime Achievement Award.

We will miss his amazing talent, but even more than that, we will miss his incredible sense of humor, positive attitude, infectious smile , and his love of people. He made everyone he met feel like they were his best friend, and lit up everywhere he went with his boundless energy and enthusiasm. Billy touched the lives of so many people, both inside and outside Tulsa. We will greatly miss this special man. Thanks for the memories, Billy. You will always live in our hearts.

Billy's services will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in downtown Tulsa, 420 South Detroit Avenue.

Our Story

Our family has been taking care of Tulsa's families for a long time. Moores started in Claremore and moved to Tulsa by the courage and vision of a man from New Jersey. Moores has become one of our city's most respected enterprises, embodying the spirit that helped this city become such a wonderful place to live. Even before they introduced their 50₡ a month Full Family Funeral Plan (often taking chickens and other things in trade when money was really tight) they were here for the Tulsa community when they were needed most. The Moores have done so with compassion, courage and commitment, the cornerstone of generations of service to this community.

James Herbert Moore and sons, William M. and John Foreman, founded Moore Undertakers in the early 1900’s. Later they were associated with Musgrove Funeral Home of Claremore. In 1929 they moved to Tulsa and became Moore’s Morticians. In 1932 they became Moore Funeral Home. Dr. Joseph Moore now oversees the operation of four Tulsa facilities. Elaine Moore-Jones is the manager of Moore’s Southlawn Chapel. The Moore family has worked to insure that Tulsa families have someone they can count on when they need them the most.

Our family has been taking care of Tulsa’s families. providing quality service and value, for a long time and that’s the way it should be. Because of the Moores in Tulsa, that’s the way it will continue to be.
