Advocating for Older Adults
Our CEO, Mike Logan, met with Claire Dowers-Nichols, CEO of LeadingAge Oklahoma to discuss the pressing issues affecting older adults in Oklahoma. Saint Simeon's is a member of LeadingAge Oklahoma, which is the state association of not-for-profit and mission-driven organizations dedicated to establishing the highest standards of excellence for services to the aging, frail, and vulnerable in Oklahoma. Last December, Claire met with the Saint Simeon's Board of Trustees to present on the value of LeadingAge Oklahoma membership, as well as provide a policy update. Saint Simeon's is actively engaged in state-wide efforts to assist and advocate for older adults.

Mark your calendars for our Holy Week events. Sunday, March 29th will be our Palm Sunday service. Thursday, April 2nd is Maundy Thursday. Friday, April 3rd Good Friday and Sunday April 5th He is Risen! Sunday services are at 10:30am in Saint Anna's Chapel and 11:30am in our Memory Care Center. Happy birthday to Peggy Helmerich! Peggy, her late husband Walt, and her children have been steadfast supporters of Saint Simeon’s for over 35 years. In honor of her birthday, Phyllis and George Dotson sponsored the screening of the classic movie "Harvey" for our residents. Thanks to Phyllis and George, our residents were able to enjoy popcorn, pretzels, and cupcakes while watching Peggy star in one of Hollywood’s most beloved classic comedies. From all of us at Saint Simeon’s, Happy Birthday, Peggy!

The theme for National Social Work Month 2026 is "Uplift. Defend. Transform." Our Social Services Director, Twyla Johnson not only expemplifes these qualities by uplifting, defending, and transforming the lives of our residents and their families, but she also exemplifies our community's core values—Patience, Dedication, Humility, Respect, Integrity, Accountability, and Compassion. Today is National Registered Dietitian Nutritionist day! To celebrate, our RDN, Debbie "Diet" Tindle presented "Flavor & Function" to our residents with flavor & function food trivia and stories about food mishaps (often inspired by social media challenges). We are so grateful to Debbie for keeping our residents and patients as healthy and well-fed as possible. Thank you, Debbie Diet and Morrison Living!
