Residents in the March 6 tornado damage area:
To help with storm cleanup, the City is providing special greenwaste collection and a dump pass for storm-related debris.

The damage zone encompasses the boundaries of E. 54th St. N. to the north; the northernmost portion of the Gilcrease Expressway to the south; N. Lewis Ave. to the east; and N. Hartford Ave. to the west.

Greenwaste
To ensure collection, all greenwaste must be separated from other household trash and storm debris (tree stumps are not allowed.)

After scheduling, place your greenwaste at the curb (not in the street), ensuring it is at least four feet away from other objects. All greenwaste must be cut into five-foot lengths or less. To prevent damage to infrastructure and ensure safety, greenwaste must not be placed on top of water meters, near fences, or under low-hanging power lines.

Dump Pass
You may also request one free dump pass. Following your request, a City team member will visit the property to verify that the debris is directly related to storm damage, such as roofing materials or fencing.

If approved, you will be responsible for delivering the debris to the location(s) specified on the dump pass.

If you live within this zone and have storm damage, please contact 311 to schedule a pickup in one of the following ways:
– Call 311 during business hours
– Email tulsa311@cityoftulsa.org with details and your name and address
– Visit www.tulsa311@.com

Households are limited to one greenwaste pickup and/or one storm debris dump pass.

Do you have greenwaste from your yard that you need to get rid of? Tulsa's trash service makes yard waste removal simple.
At the Curb:
• Limbs and branches can be tied into bundles no more than 2-feet across and 4-feet long and weighing less than 40 lbs. and placed at the curb on your regular trash day.
• Grass and leaves can be bagged in a transparent bag and place at the curb (no tags required) on your regular trash day.
• Please leave three feet of space between your green waste and other objects.
• You may place a total of 15 bags and/or bundles of yard waste and/or (tagged) refuse at the curb per week.
• Always remember, yard waste does NOT go in your blue recycling cart.

Drop it Off at the Mulch Site:
You can drop off loose tree branches, grass clippings and leaves. (The mulch site will not accept anything over 24 inches in diameter. No root balls or trees with foreign materials such as fence or concrete, rock, pipe, lumber or treated wood, trash, dirt or building materials.)
While at the site, you can pick up an unlimited amount of free mulch.

Plastic bags are the #1 contaminant of recycling materials here in Tulsa. Help us to keep our machinery from getting tangled and running smoothly by thinking before you throw into your blue carts!

Before you toss it, think before you throw.

Choosing the right cart makes a big difference:
Blue cart: clean paper and cardboard, plastic bottles and jugs, metal cans, and glass bottles and jars.
️ Gray cart: flexible films, plastic bags, tanglers (cords/hoses), food waste and anything you’re unsure about.

When we put only the right items in the blue cart, we reduce contamination and keep more material out of the landfill. Every item you sort correctly matters.

Street Operations
Tulsa's arterial (main) roads have all been plowed/treated - with most now clear and passable. Public Works crews have spent the day addressing any slick spots and areas needing attention. Due to the potential for refreeze (which creates black ice) overnight, crews will report again at midnight to continue treating Tulsa's roads as needed.

As background, the City is responsible for clearing snow and ice from Tulsa's arterial roads and not most major highways, which is the responsibility of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). Additionally, highway on-and-off ramps are also the responsibility of ODOT.

As conditions continue to improve, Public Works crews will shift their focus from plowing to black ice response and emergency pothole repairs starting Tuesday.

Motorists are urged to continue to use caution, maintain distance from City plows and treatment vehicles, and never attempt to pass them while they are working.

Street Closures
‣ S. Elwood Ave. by Turkey Mountain - Reopening Tuesday

Public Works crews are applying brine (salt/water mixture) to Elwood tonight with the expectation that the road will reopen on Tuesday.

City of Tulsa Water & Sewer personnel remain ready to respond to waterline breaks as they happen. Several new breaks have started appearing on the City's break board today, the largest of which was on 21st near Lewis earlier this morning. At this time, residents can:

Weather Safety Reminders
As snow melts and refreezes, black ice can form. Drivers are encouraged to stay alert, decrease speed and increase following distance. Pedestrians should also take their time at home, on sidewalks, and in parking lots to limit the risk of falling.
